The history of veloToze
Born in Sonoma County, California, veloToze came about thanks to a group of passionate cyclists facing a recurring problem: riding in the rain or cold weather without ending up with soaked and frozen feet. At the time, the existing solutions were often bulky, ineffective and spoiled the enjoyment of riding in bad weather. Refusing to let the weather dictate their ride, they decided to revolutionise the concept of shoe covers by developing innovative materials and a clean design.
By the way, did you notice the pun in their name? In English, toes (pronounced “Toze” in French) means orteils, which fits their mission perfectly: protecting cyclists’ feet from the elements. And this fighting spirit is also found in their emblematic slogan: “F**K the Rain“. More than a simple provocation, it is a cry of defiance, the assertion of a mindset that refuses to let the rain dictate the rules. It is with this philosophy that veloToze designed its first shoe covers, combining lightness, waterproofing and aerodynamics, to allow cyclists to brave bad weather without compromising on performance.
A complete range to take on the elements
Today, veloToze is no longer limited to shoe covers. The brand offers a wide range of products designed to help cyclists outwit the elements, whether rain, cold, heat or wind.
As part of our mission to introduce our readers to quality brands, veloToze sent us a representative selection of their range. We tested these products mainly in size M (EU 40.5 – 42.5) and we share our general impressions here, without going into the usual level of detail of our tests, in order to give you a global overview of the brand.
Tall shoe covers – Road 2.0
Ideal for cyclists looking for optimal protection against cold and rain, the Tall Shoe Covers – Road 2.0 are designed to face the toughest weather conditions.
Made of waterproof latex , they provide an effective barrier against moisture , keeping your feet dry even in heavy downpours. Their design fits the shoe and the ankle perfectly, thus limiting water and wind infiltration.
In addition to their protective function, these shoe covers also improve aerodynamics, notably air resistance, for increased road performance. Their smooth, minimalist finish brings a touch of sobriety and elegance to your kit.
Available in black, in size M, these shoe covers are priced at €20.00.

The 3bikes verdict: we were convinced by their excellent protection against rain and wind , which keeps the feet dry even in difficult conditions. Their blended material provides good retention, but putting them on takes a bit of practice. Once in place, they stay perfectly in position and fully play their role, offering both comfort and aerodynamics.
Little tip: because of their blended latex material, these shoe covers require a specific technique to be put on easily. Here is the idea for putting them on without difficulty:
1. First pull the shoe cover onto your bare foot: pull it up to the calf, like a sock.
2. Then put on your cycling shoe and adjust it properly.
3. Fold the shoe cover down over the shoe, making sure to adjust it well to avoid creases and ensure optimal protection.
With this method, you will avoid having to pull excessively on the latex and will make it easier to put on while extending the life of the product.
Neoprene shoe covers with waterproof cuffs
This model is specially designed for rides in very cold weather. Unlike latex shoe covers, which favour aerodynamics and protection against moisture, these offer reinforced thermal insulation thanks to the neoprene. The waterproof cuffs prevent water from getting in, ensuring dry feet even in heavy rain.
Ideal for harsh winter conditions, they are available in black, size M, at a price of €64.95.

The 3bikes verdict: we found these shoe covers particularly effective for winter rides. The neoprene provides excellent thermal insulation, while the waterproof cuffs effectively keep water out, even in heavy rain. Unlike the latex models, they are much easier to put on, which makes them practical to use. The only downside: their thickness can feel less light for those who prioritise slimness and aerodynamics.
AeroLink™ jersey
This black and grey jersey is designed to offer a balanced, ultra-aerodynamic fit, perfect for performance-seeking cyclists. The highly breathable technical materials ensure excellent sweat evacuation, guaranteeing optimal comfort on the most intense rides.
A unique attachment system links the jersey to the bib shorts via four discreet buttons, offering an even more stable fit and a second-skin effect.
Available in size M, it is priced at €110.00.

The 3bikes verdict: the AeroLink™ jersey offers an ultra-fitted cut, giving a second-skin feel that is ideal for performance. The breathable materials are very effective, even during intense efforts. The attachment system with the bib shorts adds extra hold, eliminating any flapping. Be careful to choose your size well, though, as its close-to-the-body cut can be demanding in terms of comfort.
AeroLink™ bib shorts
Designed to be worn with the AeroLink™ jersey, these black bib shorts offer exceptional comfort and perfect synergy thanks to their four-button attachment system, ensuring an impeccable fit and a second-skin effect.
Fitted with a high-end ergonomic chamois, they guarantee excellent cushioning over long distances. Their seamless straps offer optimal support without pressure points, while the compressive cut supports the muscles while allowing total freedom of movement.
Available in size M , they are priced at €160.00.

The 3bikes verdict: we were impressed by the comfort and technicality of these bib shorts, especially on long rides. The high-end chamois offers excellent cushioning, even after several hours in the saddle, while the seamless straps eliminate any risk of irritation .
Combined with the AeroLink™ jersey, the attachment system ensures a perfect fit, avoiding any flapping and reinforcing the second-skin feel. An investment, then, but totally justified for demanding cyclists seeking comfort and performance.
Waterproof cycling gloves
Specially designed for cold and rainy rides, these gloves offer an effective waterproof barrier while remaining highly breathable to prevent moisture build-up inside. Their thermal insulation keeps hands warm even in extreme conditions, while their ergonomic design guarantees excellent grip and perfect dexterity on the handlebars.
Robust, comfortable and high-performing, they are the ideal ally for demanding cyclists.
Available in size M, at a price of €65.00.

The 3bikes verdict: these gloves are exceptionally effective against moisture and offer optimal protection against the cold, even in pouring rain. Their waterproofness and breathability guarantee dry, warm hands throughout the ride. Although they offer excellent insulation, you can sometimes feel a slight loss of sensitivity on the handlebars because of their padding. However, this does not call their overall performance into question: a solid and reliable choice for rainy and cold conditions .
Aero gloves
Designed to maximise aerodynamics, these gloves are both light and perfectly fitted, offering optimal grip on the handlebars without harming comfort. Their elegant design and construction technique make them an ideal choice for time trials or high-speed rides, where every detail counts.
Available in size M, they are priced at €35.00.

The 3bikes verdict: these gloves stand out for their lightness and balanced cut, offering perfect grip on the handlebars and optimal comfort on fast rides. However, since their protection against the cold is limited, they are better suited to mild days or summer rides. An excellent choice for those looking for gloves that are both high-performing and aerodynamic in warmer periods.
Aero socks
Designed to reduce drag and improve aerodynamics, these black socks offer light compression that supports the muscles while guaranteeing optimal comfort. Their technical construction ensures a perfect fit, ideal for cyclists looking for both performance and well-being.
Available in size S/M (EU 37 – 42.5), they are priced at €16.00.

The 3bikes verdict: these socks offer remarkable comfort and stay perfectly in place throughout the ride. Although the aerodynamic effect is hard to quantify, they blend perfectly with the AeroLink™ set, adding an extra touch of performance and style. A good complement for cyclists looking to maximise their comfort without neglecting the details.
Silicone toe covers
Ideal for cool days, these black silicone toe covers offer targeted protection for the front of the foot, blocking wind and moisture without the bulk of a full shoe cover. Their light and practical design ensures optimal comfort while maintaining great freedom of movement.
Priced at €14.00, they are an excellent solution for cyclists looking for protection and simplicity .

The 3bikes verdict: these toe covers are an excellent solution for cool days. Very practical, they are easy to put on and stay in place throughout the ride. Perfect for cyclists looking for light and functional protection without too many constraints.
