“New Bike Day” represents a significant event for many cyclists, whether they ride on the road or on Zwift. The global online fitness platform introduces the Bike Upgrade System, a feature allowing users to use their “Drops” – points earned as in-game sweat drops – to acquire or upgrade virtual bikes, thus offering a competitive advantage.
Virtual Bike Customization
With the Bike Upgrade System, Zwift allows players to invest their Drops to optimize the bikes in their virtual garage. This option offers the possibility to improve a high-end model or to adapt each bike to specific terrains, according to the user’s preferences.

Five Upgrade Levels
Each frame in the garage can now benefit from a series of specific upgrades. From launch, five levels are available, each influencing a distinct aspect of performance:
- Aerodynamics
- Weight reduction
- Drivetrain efficiency
- Experience bonus (+5% XP)
- Drops bonus (+5%)
Three New “Halo Bikes”
In addition to this update, Zwift offers three exclusive bikes, designed in collaboration with renowned brands: Specialized, Pinarello, and Cannondale. These “Halo Bikes” are distinguished by their design and history:
- Pinarello Espada: A time trial bike, created by Fausto Beroglio for Miguel Indurain.
- Specialized Project 74: Conceived by Robert Egger, this model celebrates the founding of Specialized in 1974, with an approach freed from UCI rules.
- Cannondale R4000 Roller Blade: A 1990s concept integrating four inline roller skate wheels at the front, replacing a traditional wheel.

Access and Prestige
These bikes, like the Zwift Concept Z1, require a time investment to be unlocked. To access them, users will need to fully upgrade (five stages) three bikes from the same manufacturer. Their rarity and high performance give them a special value within the Zwift community.
