Since the introduction of clipless pedals forty years ago, cycling had not seen a significant technological evolution in this area. Today, Ekoï introduces a new pedal-shoe concept with the PW8, developed to optimize efficiency, lightness, aerodynamics, and comfort. Distributed worldwide by the French company Ekoï, this product is the result of over four years of research and two years of testing by professional and amateur cyclists.

The PW8 pedal stands out with a reduced axle-to-sole distance of 8 mm and a contact surface of 1500 mm² (compared to 705 mm² for a commonly used pedal), promoting increased power transfer and a reduction in dead spots during pedaling.

Reduced Weight
In terms of weight, the cleats weigh 15 g per pair, each pedal weighs 105 g, for a total of 225 g (pedals and cleats included).
Regarding aerodynamics, wind tunnel tests have shown an 11% reduction in drag according to the brand.
The pedal also offers easy adjustment with four angle options and vertical or lateral adjustment. Combined with Michelin studs, the shoe ensures comfortable walking and good grip.
The system integrates recessed cleats for a natural gait, with customization options: two angles per cleat (0°-1.5° or 3°-6°) and precise adjustment. The pedal’s fluid rotation facilitates quick activation of the pull phase, especially at dead spots.

Cycling figures such as Philippe Gilbert, Nicolas Roche, Claudio Chiappucci, and Michele Bartoli contributed to its development, highlighting its advantages in terms of performance and comfort.
Designed and manufactured in France, the PW8 pedal (Power and 8 mm) is optimized to work with the PW8 C12 Pro Full Carbon shoe, a high-end leather model produced in Italy.

Ekoï provides technical data to allow manufacturers to offer compatible models.
The PW8 concept is available for purchase on the www.ekoi.fr website, where prices are detailed by country.
