Specialized launches four new road tires for 2025

Each tire in the Specialized 2025 range reflects advanced expertise, combining advanced materials and innovative designs. Whether for competition, training, or endurance challenges, these tires are designed to optimize rides, kilometer after kilometer. A closer look at the new RAPIDAIR TLR, S-Works Turbo TLR, Mondo TLR, and Mondo Folding.

Nearly 50 years were needed to develop the 2025 tire range, announced by Specialized as its fastest, lightest, and most durable to date. This range has been simplified to make it easier to choose the ideal tire, a key issue when considering the importance of the contact patch between the tread and the ground.

Specialized’s story began with a tire, the first product to bear the brand name. Since the launch of the Touring tire in 1976, a team of experts in performance tire development has been assembled. This collaboration, named Made in Racing, brings together chemists, engineers, material specialists, product managers, and professional riders.

Together, they test and perfect tires in the lab and on the road, aiming for victory in the world’s biggest cycling races.

Fast, Light, and Durable Road Tires

The 2025 range offers some of the highest-performing road tires ever designed, combining speed, lightness, and durability. Simplified to meet varied needs – competition, training, or endurance – it incorporates new tread designs. These innovations reduce weight and rolling resistance while improving traction, without sacrificing puncture protection.

RAPIDAIR TLR: The Quintessence of Racing

The RAPIDAIR TLR redefines the standards for competition Tubeless tires. 33 seconds faster (over 40 km) than its predecessor, it combines an optimized tread and an innovative two-ply overlapping casing on the sidewalls. This design improves suppleness, grip, and handling while reducing weight (220 g for 700 x 26) and aerodynamic drag.

Use: Road competition
Sizes and weights: 700 x 26 (220 g), 700 x 28 (230 g)
Casing: RAPIDAIR 120 TPI construction
Compounds: GRIPTON T2 (center), T5 (shoulders)
Price: 90 €

S-Works Turbo TLR: Performance and Robustness

The S-Works Turbo TLR stands out as the benchmark tire for competition and long distances. 10% faster and 20 g lighter than its predecessor, it maintains exceptional durability for a race tire. Its dual GRIPTON compound tread (T2 in the center, T5 on the shoulders) and triple-layer casing with puncture protection belt offer optimal grip and increased durability, whether on dry, wet, or cobbled roads.

Use: Competition and training
Sizes and weights: 700 x 28 (275 g), 700 x 30 (285 g), TAN versions (265 g)
Casing: triple layer 120 TPI with puncture protection belt
Compounds: GRIPTON T2 (center), T5 (shoulders)
Price: 75 €

Mondo TLR: Endurance and Versatility

The Mondo TLR excels in endurance, combining speed, durability, and lightness (310 g in 700 x 28). A Paris-Roubaix winner with Lotte Kopecky, it is suitable for long distances, varied terrains, and even e-bikes thanks to its robustness. A puncture protection belt and woven mesh reinforcement on the sidewalls guarantee optimal protection.

Use: Performance road endurance
Sizes and weights: 700 x 28 (310 g), 700 x 32 (330 g), 700 x 35 (360 g)
Casing: triple thickness 120 TPI with reinforced protection
Compounds: GRIPTON T2 (center), T5 (shoulders)
Price: 70 €

Mondo Folding: Tubed Endurance

The Mondo Folding is aimed at cyclists looking for a versatile and durable tubed tire. With a weight of 260 g (700 x 26), it offers triple protection and a puncture protection belt, ideal for demanding routes. Its GRIPTON T5 compound ensures speed and grip in all conditions.

Use: All-condition endurance
Sizes and weights: 700 x 26 (260 g), 700 x 28 (290 g), 700 x 32 (340 g)
