Giro 2025: a start from Albania, a passage through Slovenia, white roads in Tuscany, and a return to the Colle delle Finestre

For the first time in its history, the Giro will start from Albania, where the first three stages of this 108th edition will take place. After two initial weeks of racing that will undoubtedly bring many twists and turns, including the 9th stage between Gubbio and Siena which will feature 30 km of white roads, and the 11th stage with the ascent of Alpe San Pelligrino, the race will most certainly be decided during the final week. Four stages are indeed expected to be very difficult with summit finishes at San Valentino (16th stage), Bormio (17th stage), Champoluc (19th stage), and Sestriere (the day before the final arrival) after climbing the Colle delle Finestre (2178 m, with part of the ascent on a gravel road).
