Scott unveils its all-new Addict RC

Scott announces its Addict RC, the lightest road bike ever created by the brand, whose objective has always been to shed grams. The latest iteration has been designed to help cyclists defy gravity. Scott’s development team worked tirelessly on this bike. The result? A remarkable 300g reduction in frameset weight compared to its predecessor, with no compromise on racing performance.

Now, this new generation of Addict offers something completely unique on the market: a complete bike weighing less than 5.9 kg with race-ready geometry, capable of handling a World Tour sprint, leading a breakaway, and winning every KOM along the way.

Lightweight Expertise

Scott’s commitment to manufacturing lightweight bikes is inseparable from its expertise in carbon technology. For the all-new Addict RC, Scott took the approach to carbon road bike manufacturing and “flipped it.” Drawing inspiration from the mountain bike approach, Scott meticulously re-evaluated molding techniques, seeking innovative ways to improve road performance. The result? A 300g reduction in frameset weight compared to its predecessor, with no compromise on racing performance.

A new carbon molding method has made it possible to produce a completely hollow frame with no dead-end tube segments. This process is entirely unique in the cycling industry and is only applicable if the frame design is custom-engineered for this manufacturing method.
Thanks to the smooth surface of the inflatable preform core, the inside of the frame is extremely clean and shows no signs of voids or wrinkles. With the precise internal shape, all excess resin is extracted from the frame during the molding process, leaving only what is truly necessary for stiffness and strength.

Constant molding pressure across the entire frame surface ensures optimal compaction of the layup and helps avoid any additional reinforcement while reducing thickness to approximately 0.6 mm in some areas.

Precision Engineering
The innovative manufacturing process (Polypropylene Moulding Core) allows for high-precision molding of internal surfaces and transition zones, combined with strength-optimized tube shapes that eliminate additional reinforcements and unnecessary filler materials. As a result, first-class tube profiles and surfaces are achieved, significantly reducing the overall frame weight without sacrificing strength or stiffness.

Better carbon layup, a reduced number of carbon parts and joints, and incredible attention to small details such as the seatstays and seat clamp, the development team reduced weight without sacrificing stiffness.

Optimized Geometry
The geometry of the new Addict RC has undergone a complete redesign to perfectly align with modern specifications for this bike, accommodating wider tires while improving overall handling consistency across all sizes. Whether you’re a professional rider or chasing local KOMs/QOMs on the weekend, the new Addict RC promises increased agility and responsiveness, ensuring an unparalleled riding experience.
The geometry has been optimized for the original tire setup with a width of 30 mm. If you need something more robust, no problem. The frame has enough clearance for 34 mm tires.

The Addict RC’s geometry offers significant handling in tight corners and quick changes of direction. And at the same time, the bike is stable enough to withstand sudden gusts of wind and to avoid feeling nervous at high speeds.

Comfort
The integration of advanced molding technology and a redesigned seatpost clamping system allows for thinner seat tube walls and reduced material usage in this key part of the frame. Combined with the new Syncros SP-R101-CF seatpost, the reduced seat tube thickness improves flexibility and promotes increased comfort during long rides. Furthermore, the all-new Addict RC, with its generous 34 mm tire clearance, ensures improved comfort even on the most challenging terrains.

IC-R100-SL Cockpit
The introduction of the new Addict RC paved the way for the development of an innovative new Syncros cockpit, the IC-R100-SL. The goal was to create an aerodynamic handlebar, achieved by incorporating a subtle flare on the drops to blend seamlessly with the brake levers, resulting in increased watt savings but also improved handling and easier brake control.
The new integrated Syncros cockpit has also been optimized to further reduce material. Thanks to a new stem clamp design and an FEA-optimized carbon layup, it is now approximately 40g lighter for the same strength and stiffness. Standard on all bikes, Addict RC cockpits offer a wide variety of computer mounts and accessories. A new computer mount has even been developed for the cockpits. Its 3D-printed metal structure weighs only 12g, nearly 70% lighter than standard CNC-machined computer mounts.

SP-R100-SL Seatpost
A symbiotic frameset system can only work with a matching seatpost. For the new ADDICT RC, two different options are offered to meet everyone’s needs.
The new SL seatpost is 10% lighter than the previous model. Thanks to the new, more fiber-friendly seatpost clamp design, Scott was able to optimize the seatpost layup and further reduce weight while increasing flexibility and comfort. The new Comfort seatpost increases bike comfort by an additional 30% compared to the SL version.

Millimeter Adjustments
Scott designed the new Addict RC to be effortlessly adjustable, setting a new standard for ease of setup. By streamlining bolt specifications and integrating a universal tool, the brand has revolutionized the adjustment process. Discreetly located in the cockpit or handlebar, the T25 wrench allows riders to fine-tune the stem, handlebar, seatpost, saddle clamp, and even bottle cages with unparalleled simplicity. This innovative solution not only enhances the user experience but also simplifies setup procedures for mechanics.

Product Range
The Addict RC will be available in five different models, all benefiting from full HMX carbon construction (HMX-SL for the RC Ultimate) and the same technological advantages, regardless of the chosen specification level.
