Team Visma Lease a Bike will use ROUVY for race preparation starting in 2025

ROUVY, the indoor cycling application that allows users to ride real routes around the world, announces a new partnership with Visma Lease a Bike. This collaboration will enable riders of all levels to prepare and train with the same tools used by professional athletes, combining aspects of outdoor and indoor training to support race and course preparation, regardless of weather or location.

In order to optimize training and race preparation, the Visma Lease a Bike team was looking for a virtual cycling platform with realistic route features. Thanks to ROUVY’s unique Route Creator tool, the team’s performance hub riders and coaches can now easily replicate and ride specific routes from anywhere. For example, Jonas Vingegaard can now preview and train for Tour de France summit finishes from his home in Denmark, regardless of bad weather conditions, or replicate any challenging terrain in the world without leaving his home. This feature also accommodates any cycling coach, who can then guide riders around the world through the same route simulations, ensuring consistent and personalized follow-up.

Mathieu Heijboer, performance coach for Team Visma Lease a Bike, emphasizes the impact of the Route Creator: “With ROUVY, we can build and simulate precise routes for training or race reconnaissance. This allows us to prepare our riders in real conditions while taking into account specific terrains, even thousands of kilometers away.”

In addition to preparing real routes, the partnership offers users exclusive access to Visma Lease a Bike team workouts inspired by star riders such as Jonas Vingegaard, Wout Van Aert, and Marianne Vos.

Jonas Vingegaard highlighted the impact of the Route Creator feature on his training program: “Being able to train on ROUVY’s real routes allows me to recognize and train on courses that I wouldn’t otherwise be able to access due to weather or travel. It’s invaluable for ensuring I’m prepared, no matter where I am.”

The partnership will kick off with a group ride on November 27th at 6 PM, where all ROUVY members can join Visma Lease a Bike riders, including Atilla Valter and Ben Tullet. It will be possible to ride the last part of the final stage of La Vuelta, riding towards the iconic center of Madrid on traffic-free roads, with a few short climbs over 20 km and 213 m of elevation gain.

Looking ahead, the collaboration will expand starting in January 2025 where cyclists can follow the winter preparation program with new workouts, planning, virtual assets such as jerseys and bikes, and expert advice. This will provide access to the same techniques that allow the Visma Lease a Bike team to shine, enabling cyclists worldwide to improve their outdoor season.

Petr Samek, CEO of ROUVY, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership’s possibilities: “Our collaboration with the Visma Lease a Bike team brings professional-level training to every ROUVY user, allowing them to train on real routes that matter. We also want to enable our users and our teams’ fans to cycle with professional riders. This partnership offers the tools and experience that professionals and dedicated amateurs need to excel.”

Cyclists eager to experience professional-level training with real-route simulations and dedicated tools can visit the ROUVY website for more information on accessing the workouts, routes, and training experiences available in partnership with the Visma Lease a Bike team.
