From a distance, what might look like a standard hub mounted on your wheel actually conceals a dynamo. DT Swiss has collaborated with Shutter Precision, a market leader in dynamo hub technology, seamlessly integrating their SP PL-7 generator into a custom-made hub shell.
What makes the dynamo hub special is hidden within its hub shell. From a distance, what looks like a standard hub when mounted on your wheelset actually conceals a dynamo.
Dynamo Product Range

With their dynamo hub, these robust aluminum Gravel wheels ensure your lights are always on when you need them, whether you’re touring in nature or commuting early in the morning. If you prefer to build your own wheelset, the dynamo hub is also available as a separate component.
Efficiency
As one of the most efficient technologies on the market, this dynamo hub with the SP PL-7 generator achieves an efficiency of 72% at 15 km/h, while delivering a standard power output of 6V 3W.
The dynamo hub generates electricity from the rotation of the front wheel to power your lights and other electrical devices. This adds some resistance, but thanks to the design of the hub shell and the efficiency of the SP PL-7, it has a minimal effect on your ride. Efficiency is measured with the lights on and off.
