There are two ways to develop a new product. One is to rely on a simple update of an existing product. The other is to combine experience and boldness to create something entirely new, a product aiming to test new avenues towards innovative components and solutions.
With the Revolution, its brand new road shoe model, Northwave chose the second option.
Northwave has integrated into the Revolution materials, solutions, and technologies derived from decades of experience at the pinnacle of competitive cycling, collaborating with some of the greatest champions as well as an ever-growing number of cycling enthusiasts. The result is a shoe with a “Pro Fit“, featuring remarkable aesthetics and technical solutions inspired by the needs of pros, but without the extreme rigidity and price of a World Tour level shoe.

The Revolution is a brand new shoe designed for demanding and ambitious road cyclists, those who know which details can make a real difference in terms of performance, but for whom comfort and durability never take a back seat. The Revolution is designed to perfectly assist every pedal stroke, whether for a sprint after a KOM or during the longest rides.
The Revolution integrates innovative elements — first and foremost its new Morph Carbon sole — with Northwave features such as the double SLW3 dial with micrometric adjustment and the patented Powershape system for optimal arch support.
Rigidity and comfort for the Morph Carbon sole
Morph Carbon is the essence of the Northwave revolution, the solid foundation for the innovative solutions of this shoe. It is a carbon composite sole with a stiffness index of 13 out of 15, developed to find the ideal balance between comfort and performance, thanks to the surprising blend of lightweight yet stiff and durable materials that make it very high-performing. The rigidity of the injected carbon fiber outsole ensures optimal power transmission at every phase of pedaling, and its geometry perfectly echoes the anatomical shape of the foot.

Thanks to the Powershape design, the sole conforms to the anatomical shape of the arch to provide support and comfort: with the Morph Carbon sole, rigidity and comfort pedal together. The two vents in the sole optimize incoming and outgoing airflow, ensuring both ventilation and breathability, helping feet stay cool.
With the Morph Carbon sole, the possibilities for cleat adjustment — essential for correct positioning and optimal power transmission — are even greater than before. Speedplay/Wahoo compatibility is ensured by the dedicated Northwave adapter.
Replaceable rubber heel pads further extend the product’s lifespan.
A lightweight upper with incomparable style
The upper of the Northwave Revolution is made of PU synthetic leather with breathable mesh and laser perforations. Textile eyelets contribute to a wrap-around fit, and the ventilated tongue is made of Airnet mesh, offering an even more comfortable and lightweight fit, without pressure points.
In addition to contributing to an overall feeling of comfort and lightness, the outer materials of the upper are specially designed to be easy to clean and wash, even in cold weather.

The heel lining with silicone injections prevents the foot from lifting during pedaling, keeping it always in the correct position. The dual X-Dial SLW3 dial system – the one used in high-end World Tour shoes – offers a high-precision, dual-zone closure, fully customizable and adjustable even while riding with micrometric adjustment.
Price, sizes and colors
The Revolution is available in four color versions: black, white, light grey/sage, and a bolder version with neon red inserts.
Since feet vary not only in length but also in shape, the Revolution is also available in a Wide Fit version. To accommodate those who need more volume in the fit, without sacrificing performance, the widths of the toe, metatarsal, and instep have been completely revised and reshaped.
The Northwave Revolution is available — also in Wide Fit version — from size 36 to size 50, at a recommended retail price of €224.99.
