Séverine Desbouys chairs the new cycling section of the Racing Club de France

The Racing Club de France (RCF), France’s first multi-sport club founded in 1882, has created a cycling section and appointed former cycling champion Séverine Desbouys to lead it. The winner of the Grande Boucle Féminine in 2000 is responsible for conceiving, structuring, and presiding over a unique mobility project for this brand-new cycling section, affiliated with the French Cycling Federation.

Based at the La Boulie site (which already includes golf, hockey, and tennis sections), the RCF Cycling section demonstrates innovation by offering new, high-quality experiences for sports leisure and tourism to various audiences of all ages: members, professionals, individuals, communities, and businesses. This new section fits perfectly into the vision of the Racing 2027 project, where sport must play a central role in society.

“My goal is to take into account the three RCF infrastructure sites (La Boulie, Saussure, and Eblé), thus unifying mobility and facilities. I aspire to create a friendly environment, bringing together families, high-level enthusiasts, and beginners,” says Séverine Desbouys, the new president of the Racing Club de France cycling section.

The project offers a comprehensive system centered around cycling and its practice, including:

• a learning platform at La Boulie, with the objective of welcoming schools and businesses from the Yvelines, people with reduced mobility, and seniors. A bike park and a “back in the saddle” track are also planned;

• the creation of a “Bike Workshop” to offer bike storage and a bike garage, a mechanics and repair workshop, a clothing showroom, a lounge bar, and two connected bike rooms for remote cycling with riders from all over the world, training for competitions, gamifying the approach with young people, and contributing to the health of seniors. Ultimately, the goal is to form a connected e-sport team, notably through the partnership with the LEPAPE group.

• Gravel routes developed with a digital guide that speaks 8 languages, in collaboration with the Yvelines department and the municipalities of Bougival, Jouy-en-Josas, and Versailles.

• bi-weekly bike rides to accompany members in the Chevreuse Valley, to share convivial moments and learn with professionals.
