Teodoro Bartuccio is a candidate for the FFC presidency on December 14, 2024.

Teodoro Bartuccio’s journey in the cycling world has not been easy. Coming from a modest background, it was thanks to the solidarity of the Vélo Club Drancéen (93) that he was able to take his first steps in competitive cycling, thus forging the values of sharing, determination, and gratitude towards the sport that are his today. One day, Teodoro Bartuccio embarks on a major challenge: the presidency of the French Cycling Federation (FFC), with the election scheduled for December 14 against Michel Callot, the current president since 2017.

With an audacious program, he aims to unite, reconcile, and revitalize a struggling institution. Faced with a worrying loss of licensees, the closure of clubs, and a decrease in organizations, he states: “I want the FFC to listen to the clubs again, because they form the base of cycling in France.” This conviction is the driving force of his campaign, and he is preparing to face these challenges with a resolute and pragmatic vision.

But Bartuccio is not just a promising candidate; he is a man of the field, deeply aware of the realities clubs face. He doesn’t just talk; he proposes concrete actions to meet these challenges. His objective is simple but powerful: “to give clubs the means to recover, to provide them with adapted tools to restructure and develop, to support them in their often complex and sometimes overwhelming daily management.” He also wants to help them access funding, whether public or private, to ensure their sustainability.

His approach, based on listening and collaboration, reflects a deep understanding of clubs’ needs. Bartuccio is committed to offering genuine support, to re-establish ties between the FFC and its clubs, and to repair what has broken over the years. For him, these are not just numbers or statistics to be corrected, but passionate individuals to re-motivate, young talents to supervise, and volunteers to support. He carries on his shoulders the dream of a united, dynamic, and revitalized French cycling.

Teodoro Bartuccio claims to be aware of the needs of clubs, which are essential to the functioning of cycling in France.

Teodoro Bartuccio’s experience at the head of the PCO is an undeniable asset for this new challenge. After years of hard work, he succeeded in transforming the PCO into a solid structure, even winning the French National 2 championship title. But beyond tangible results, it is his ability to unite that impresses. “Alone, we go faster; together, we go further,” he often repeats. This maxim is not just a slogan; it is a philosophy he has applied throughout his career, and which he wishes to extend nationwide. His unifying leadership is based on the conviction that every voice counts, that every good will can make a difference, and it is this collective approach that he wishes to bring to the French Cycling Federation.

Bartuccio is not limited to being a project builder; he is also a visionary attentive to current issues. Women’s cycling, which is booming, is one of his priorities. He knows that “clubs are the foundation of all development, and that supporting their progress is crucial for growing women’s participation in France.” Similarly, youth occupies a central place in his strategy. “Training the future generation” is a vital mission for him, “not only to ensure succession, but also to give French cycling new momentum, both among amateurs and elites.” He deeply believes in the role of clubs in supervising and nurturing tomorrow’s talents.

Bartuccio is also an active practitioner, proud of his Parisian roots.

Aware of the transformations of the modern world, Bartuccio also sees digital technology as an immense opportunity. He wants to simplify and modernize procedures for licensees and clubs, while strengthening transparency and accessibility. In his eyes, new technologies can not only make cycling more attractive, but also increase its visibility, both nationally and internationally. “We must work on new methods to support our French teams,” he specifies, convinced that an innovative and modern strategy can restore France to a leading position on the world cycling scene.

What we took away from this interview is that Teodoro Bartuccio is much more than just a candidate: he is the bearer of an ambitious and inclusive vision for French cycling. His sincere passion, deep commitment, and understanding of current issues are the keys to his ability to transform the landscape of cycling in France. Bartuccio offers not only a promise of renewal, but also a real opportunity to advance the sport he loves. “For every practitioner, a solution,” such is the promise he makes to all those who believe in this sport, to all those who work to grow cycling in France. With him as president, the FFC will no longer be just an institution, but a driving force of dynamism and aspiration, a space where every club and every rider will find support and encouragement. French cycling is on the cusp of a new era, and Teodoro Bartuccio could very well be its guide…
