Champagnole. 8:30 AM, this Sunday morning, the sky cleared, a few sunbeams pierced through the clouds for the first start of the Transju’Cyclo. The 1,252 cyclists set off on courses of 153 km, 110 km, and 70 km.
A few minutes before the start, the event’s ambassador, Marine Strappazzon of Team ESF Scott, gave some advice to the competitors: “It’s a somewhat hilly event, so it’s important to fuel well from the start and especially not to get carried away in the first few kilometers because it can be long and difficult towards the end of the course. The main thing: you have to enjoy yourself, it’s a beautiful day, a great organization.”
The event’s patron, Caroline Colombo, 2023 Biathlon Mixed Relay World Champion, started the 70 km randonnée at 9:30 AM: “We’re going to have a good time! I’m really happy to be the patron of this event, which passes through Mouthe, my training grounds. I would have been jealous if it had been someone else. I can’t wait to start; I’ve never done a randonnée before, and I’m happy to represent La Transju, even if it’s not winter but autumn and on a bike!”
At the front throughout the race, Frenchman Thomas Bonaud (UC Brive) won in a final sprint in the queen event of La Transju’Cyclo, the 153 km. He completed the course in 3h51’40. “I’m super happy with this victory. I started well; the first climb thinned the field a bit. We were 20-25 at the front, then over the kilometers, there were 7 of us who could contend for the win. I had noticed this morning that if we turned before the finish line, there was a chance to win! It was very enjoyable, a very beautiful course.”
In the women’s race, Frenchwoman Manon Moyse won this edition in 4h23’27.
For the 110 km, the winners of the third edition are Frenchman Aurélien Lionnet in 2h59’50 and Frenchwoman Marjorie Landaz in 3h36’47.
For the 70 km, Frenchman Gael Invernizzi won the event in 2h03’38, and Frenchwoman Sandra Montaron won the women’s race in 2h18’47.

Pierre-Albert Vandel, President of Trans’Organisation: “This third edition went very well; we were lucky, we passed between the storms. In terms of registrations, we reached our goal with over 1,400 participants; we are progressing every year. We are very well received in Champagnole, thanks to the support of the Communauté de Communes Champagnole Nozeroy and the departments of Jura and Doubs, we can serenely look to the future of the Transju’Cyclo. I’m already looking forward to 2025, where we will be even more efficient, continue to improve to welcome even more competitors, and above all, we invite everyone to our Transju challenge across our three disciplines: skiing, trail running, and cycling.”
With over 1,400 participants over two days, bringing together amateurs, elites, and professionals, the 3rd edition of La Transju’Cyclo grows every year. The organizer Trans’Organisation is already looking forward to the 4th edition in 2025.
