New BH GravelX R, with an R for Racing to fly over all types of terrain

The new BH GravelX R inherits the lines of the current GravelX, the model with which BH made the leap into the world of high-performance gravel bikes. But while the GravelX prioritizes comfort with the use of the SRS (Smooth Riding System) micro-suspension system, the GravelX R focuses entirely on performance. This system is removed to achieve a lighter frame and a rear section where maximum rigidity is the ultimate goal. The GravelX with the SRS system is renamed GravelX AT (All Terrain).

The BH GravelX R uses all of the brand’s technological resources in terms of carbon frame construction. The HCIM process is used in the manufacturing of its frame, eliminating any imperfections from the frame, both inside and out, in order to use the minimum amount of material to achieve the best weight. In addition, the most advanced carbon layup, EVO Carbon Layup, is used to achieve the best weight-to-stiffness ratio.

The frame design retains the DNA of the brand’s road bikes, with its aggressive lines and aerodynamically shaped tubes. The low chainstays and the curvature of the seatstays provide a point of vibration filtration to bring smoothness to the ride. The fork is designed under the “Air Bow” concept which, in addition to being aesthetically key, is also a crucial element for vibration filtration and aerodynamic improvement.

Integration as a distinctive sign of BH

Integration and design have been the common thread of all BH’s innovations in recent years, and the new BH GravelX R continues this trend. The ICR internal cable routing system provides visual cleanliness and also provides aerodynamic improvements by guiding the cables inside the frame.

The frame and fork have arms that conceal the attachment points for the wheel axles, also integrating their locking levers into the body of the seatstays. The same applies to the saddle clamp area, fully integrated into the frame with BH’s clamping system that allows the seatpost to be secured with a tightening torque of only 5 Nm.

The frame is compatible with the BH toolbox, designed to carry basic items such as tire levers, a spare inner tube, and a CO2 cartridge. During its development, great attention was paid to functionality, aesthetics, and maintaining the overall aerodynamics of the frame. In addition, the box is easily detachable.
