With the organization of this 3rd edition, La Transju’Cyclo is now established in the sportive calendar and attracts participants with its varied routes in the Jura Mountains, allowing them to discover iconic places: Cerniebaud, Mouthe, the medieval city of Nozeroy, the crossing of Chaux-Neuve, passing by Lake Remoray and Saint-Point, the Col de la République and Frasne… Four events are offered:
- The 110-160 km, note that this event is part of the FFC Label d’Or Trophy, new for 2024
- The 70 km and 1,000 m of elevation gain to be completed as a timed race or randonnée
- The Rando Itinérante, 230 km and 3,700 m of elevation gain over 2 days
The 110-160km Sportive: 1 event, 2 distances to choose from
This event, which this year became part of the Label d’Or Trophy of the French Cycling Federation (FFC), offers a unique concept reserved for the most experienced cyclists: either start on 110 km or on 160 km, and at kilometer 51, competitors will choose their distance according to their energy and desire. The routes will take them from the Forges de Syam to the Gorges de la Langouette and Malvaux, then from the valleys of Chaux-Neuve to Mouthe before crossing the main passes of the route in the heart of the Prince’s forest, and reaching Cerniébaud and Mignovillard.
The 70 km Randonnée: 1 route, 2 formats to choose from
Like the two longer distances, on the 70 km, whether as a randonnée or a timed sportive, the principle remains the same: pleasure and discovery.
The first 45 kilometers are identical to the other routes up to Cerniébaud after the Col de St-Sorlin. Then competitors will cover 10 km of rolling valleys to reach the Medieval City of Nozeroy, the Sources de l’Ain, the descent to Conte, Sirod and the Rocher des Commères before crossing the finish line in Champagnole.
The 230 km Rando Itinérante: 2 days of cycling pleasure
Limited to 150 participants – fewer than 50 bibs are still available – this event is the highlight of La Transju’Cyclo. 230 km, 3,700 m of positive elevation gain, two days of cycling in the Jura Mountains, the program is not only attractive but also challenging.
Starting from Champagnole, the first day will offer a route of 122 km and 2,400 m of elevation gain towards Lamoura. Our randonneurs will be keen to discover the region of the 4 lakes up to St Claude, capital of the Haut-Jura, followed by a succession of ascents towards Les Bellecombes and its exceptional panorama of the Monts Jura mountain range before stopping for the night in Lamoura.
The second day will be just as intense with a route of 110 km and 1,300 m of elevation gain. After leaving Lamoura, cyclists will head towards the Valserine valley before climbing back under the Dôle massif then reaching Les Rousses and its mountain lake.
A route that retains the DNA of the Transjurassienne, with the crossing of the Risoux forest, the famous Combe des cives, before reaching Mouthe for a refreshment stop and returning to Champagnole via the medieval city of Nozeroy.

For its third edition, La Transju’Cyclo confirms its position as a fun and sporty sportive, maintaining the values of La Transju’ events. So, see you on the weekend of September 7 and 8, 2024, in Champagnole for a festive and friendly weekend to end the cycling season beautifully with friends!
