The latest addition to an illustrious line of speed-focused tires, the Aeolus RSL optimizes rolling resistance and aerodynamics to allow riders to rack up kilometers at full speed. The cotton casing gives it unparalleled suppleness, and the puncture protection under the tread ensures the necessary resistance to pull the peloton during group rides or reach the top of the podium in competition.
+3.7 watts saved
Bontrager’s new dual-compound tire features a firmer compound in the center tread to reduce rolling resistance, and a softer compound on the shoulders to provide better grip in corners. This combination improves rolling resistance by 3.7 watts compared to the brand’s previous road racing tire, the R3 TLR (R3 TLR 28c/Aeolus RSL 28c comparison at 35 km/h and 68 kg load on a single tire, on Trek’s internal treadmill).
Exceptional aerodynamics
In addition to reduced rolling resistance, the new Aeolus RSL tire design saves watts through its exceptional aerodynamics, particularly valuable when the wind is a factor.
Cotton casing
With its supple fibers, the 320 TPI cotton casing improves both comfort and tire performance by conforming better to the road, for a smoother, faster riding experience and better grip.
Puncture protection belt
Riders can ride with confidence thanks to the puncture protection belt placed directly under the tread, acting as additional protection against road debris, while the tubeless-ready configuration seals the tire in case of a puncture to prevent flats.
