Tour de France 2024: the route, stage maps and profiles, climbs, and TV broadcast times for the 111th edition

The 2024 Tour de France takes place from Saturday, June 29 to Sunday, July 21, between Florence, Italy, and Nice. This is the first Grand Départ from the Italian peninsula (the 26th in history from abroad). It is also a final time trial showdown that hasn’t happened in 35 years, since the legendary Laurent Fignon Vs Greg LeMond duel in 1989 on the Champs-Élysées. On the menu, the peloton (22 teams of 8 riders, for a total of 176 riders) must cover a course of 3,492 kilometers with 53,230 meters of positive elevation gain. Of note: a total of 59 km of individual time trials, 14 sectors of white roads (32 km) to cross during the 9th stage around Troyes, and the Roof of the Tour to be climbed at 2,802 m altitude with the Cime de la Bonette, the highest asphalted road in France, on July 19 between Embrun and Isola 2000. After his very heavy crash in early April at the Tour of the Basque Country, Denmark’s Jonas Vingegaard, two-time defending champion, is on the starting line and a candidate for his own succession. Slovenia’s Tadej Pogacar, winner of the Giro d’Italia last May, is also in the running for a third victory in the Grande Boucle and, above all, a historic Tour-Giro double. To follow the race closely, find the maps, profiles, and climbs of the stages, as well as the TV broadcast times for this 111th edition of the Tour de France.
