Due to the second round of legislative elections on Sunday, July 7, the 1st Cyclo d’Auvergne is changing its race calendar. La Classique Les Copains will exceptionally take place on Saturday, July 6, with a delayed start at 9 am. Consequently, La Rando and the Montée chronométrée du Béal, initially scheduled for Saturday, July 6, are canceled.
In any case, hostilities will begin on July 3 with the Ultr’Arverne, which will crisscross 4 Auvergne departments. The 2- and 3-day itinerant events also remain maintained and unchanged.
“Faced with an extraordinary context and in consultation with the prefecture, the various municipalities crossed, and the security services, we have made the unprecedented decision to modify our calendar. This decision was made to ensure the safety of the riders and our volunteers, who are doing everything possible to ensure the safest possible routes. The DNA of our cyclosportive, which offers the greatest number of people the chance to take on their own challenge, is maintained. Climbers, discovery enthusiasts, and adventurers looking for new sporting challenges, we’ll see you in Ambert from July 3 to 6!”
Mathieu Debarges, head of the Union Cycliste Ambert Auvergne (UC2A)
