New CeramicSpeed OSPW Aero Alpha derailleur cage

Two years of intensive wind tunnel testing on several design versions have resulted in the innovative OSPW Aero derailleur cage, with an entirely new and mechanically optimized cage structure. CeramicSpeed is now launching this same cage in an Alpha version.

In its continuous commitment to combining efficiency and durability, CeramicSpeed is equipping its OSPW Aero cage with two new technologies: Active Debris Remover (ADR) and the ALPHA Disc, first introduced with the OSPW X cage for Sram Eagle drivetrains.

The composite teeth of the ALPHA Disc derailleur pulleys offer increased lifespan and silent operation, while the ADR function adds a unique protective element for the bearings within the OSPW Aero cage.

All this, combined with an updated cage design featuring a striped graphic symbolizing speed, makes the OSPW Aero ALPHA as aesthetically pleasing as it is performant.

ALPHA Disc

The new OSPW Aero ALPHA cage gets its name from the ultra-durable ALPHA Disc derailleur pulleys. The ALPHA Disc features a two-part construction. A separate narrow-wide tooth profile, made from composite material, offers extended wear protection and noise reduction. A solid aluminum disc adds strength and rigidity to the pulley design.

Early versions of this solid disc derailleur pulley design were field-tested at Cyclo-Cross World Cups a few years ago. During the 2022 Cyclo-Cross season, the CeramicSpeed-sponsored Tormans team used the solid disc version and provided valuable feedback on its ability to shed mud in the worst conditions.

Active Debris Remover (ADR): Anti-Debris Retention

ADR is a patented technical feature based on a unique combination that makes it virtually impossible for debris to enter the bearing. It consists of a new dust cover design securely anchored in a groove in the pulley wheel, thus completely enveloping the bearing. This is combined with a slatted groove structure surrounding the dust cover, dynamically extracting debris from the pulley wheel as it rotates.
ADR was developed through a constant alliance between the R&D department, the CeramicSpeed test lab, and field tests carried out by a professional off-road team.

Now, the fastest aerodynamic derailleur cage is equipped with ADR bearing protection and a high-performance, silent Alpha Disc with composite tooth profile pulleys. In addition, a pinstripe graphic has been added for a touch of visual movement…
