The Liège-Bastogne-Liège Classic takes place on Sunday, April 21, with 259 km and over 3500 m of elevation gain on the menu. In the absence of Remco Evenepoel, winner of the last two editions and injured, Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) is the big favorite. But the Slovenian will have to contend with world champion Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin Deceuninck), already winner of the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix this season, who is aiming for a fourth Monument to his name (he already won Milan-Sanremo in 2023), as well as Tom Pidcock (Ineos Grenadiers), last Sunday’s Amstel Gold Race winner. He will also have to count on the other Briton Stephen Williams (Israel Premier Tech), who dominated a Flèche Wallonne contested under particular weather conditions. In a long and difficult race, Richard Carapaz (EF Education) will also be one to watch. On the French side, Benoît Cosnefroy (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale), Kevin Vauquelin (Arkea-B&B Hotels), Romain Grégoire and David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) should represent the best chances. Find the details of the route, the schedule, and the start list for Liège-Bastogne-Liège 2024.
