On Friday, March 22, a press conference was held, organized by the Emilia-Romagna region, marking the 100-day countdown before the 2024 Tour de France passes through Bologna, the second stage of the major cycling event. During the meeting with the media, Santini, official partner of the Tour de France since 2022, unveiled the technical kit that pays tribute to the city of Bologna, capturing its unique essence and vibrant spirit.
The Italian brand creates dedicated kits for each stage of the Grand Boucle every year to celebrate the territories crossed by the peloton and tell the story of the places visited. For the second stage of the Tour de France on Sunday, June 30, which this year will see riders pedal in Emilia-Romagna from Cesenatico to Bologna, Santini has created a kit that captures the spirit of the city of Bologna.
The colors of the kit are the distinctive red and blue of the Bologna football team. On the back of the jersey, there is a series of graphic elements that recall some of the city’s most emblematic symbols: the Asinelli Tower, the municipal flag, and the trident of the Fountain of Neptune. There is also a reference to one of the many typical dishes: spaghetti bolognese.
The Bologna collection consists of a jersey and bib shorts and, from a technical point of view, the jersey features a classic fit and is made with a “race” fabric on the front and back, a lightweight mesh on the sides, and raw-cut sleeves, creating a very breathable jersey. The bib shorts are made of medium compression fabric and are equipped with grip bands on the thighs to keep them in place and breathable mesh straps. The GITevo chamois has a gel core to progressively absorb shocks and ensure maximum comfort during long bike rides.
The Santini Bologna collection is much more than just a cycling kit: it is a vibrant and dynamic tribute to a city rich in history and culture, which welcomes the world of cycling with enthusiasm and warmth.
The kit will be available on www.santinicycling.com from mid-April.
