Passionate about sports like us, the founders of JOLT met on the fields during their youth. Their daily contact with other athletes throughout their journey allowed them to identify the need expressed by athletes of all levels: to recover faster and take care of their bodies in addition to physical therapy sessions.
Stress, fatigue, injuries, and lack of time prevent them from taking care of themselves as regularly as they should, and this impacts their physical health, directly affecting their daily well-being. A question arises: how to preserve their well-being and the integrity of their body effectively and without too many constraints? An idea then germinated in their minds; they discussed it at length with their physical therapist with the aim of developing a miniaturized product that could address this problem, easy to use, wherever one might be.
After a year of development, multiple expert feedbacks, prototypes, and tests, their first product for the general public was born: the Jolt Bolt massage gun, to complement professional treatment. The verdict and feedback from the first customers were immediate; Jolt was a small revolution in their daily lives!
And the latest addition to the range…
The Jolt Ice Bath is much more than just a cryotherapy tub; it promises to be an essential companion for all regular athletes or seasoned competitors. Thanks to its portable design and five layers of thermal insulation, it promises to offer icy recovery wherever we are… So we wanted to check if the results of this cold bath were indeed there!
Expectations before the test
Throughout this adventure, our expectations were shaped by the hope of striking results. What we were looking for was a true tangible muscle resurrection and general regeneration with each immersion. This is how we embarked on this experience. With the fervent anticipation of discovering to what extent it could meet our athletic aspirations. The idea of apprehending the coldness of the environment and the concrete benefits on muscle recovery was the driving force behind this test.

Test conditions
At the end of each training session, we dedicated its specific moment to this cold bath. A 10 to 15-minute window during which immersion became a true revitalizing ceremony in water cooled to 10°C. There, in the intimacy of this icy bath, the body was subjected to an abrupt change in temperature. This icy bath forged a connection between the intense shiver and the first invigorating sensations. These moments were not limited to a simple post-training break; they represented a deliberate pause, focused on deep recovery and the exploration of physical boundaries.

First Impressions
To begin with, setting up this portable cryotherapy tub system is remarkably simple. In a few easy steps, you can configure it without hassle. Whether you are a novice or an expert, the user-friendliness of this simplified installation ensures effortless use, allowing you to quickly enjoy the benefits offered by the system without wasting time on complex procedures.
And once inside, entering the tub was a mix of sensations. An initial cold that stings unpleasantly, and we cannot deny it – but which quickly gives way to a very pleasant sensation once you get out. Indeed, the benefits were clearly felt after each session. Soreness, carefully soothed by the coolness, responded as expected.
A comfortable experience in the discomfort of the first few minutes. No ergonomic or user-friendliness issues marred the picture. And compared to other methods we had tested in the past, in the grand scheme of recovery, the Jolt Ice Bath positions itself as an economical choice, I would say. Indeed, the choice between dry cold cryotherapy (using a nitrogen-cooled chamber) and wet cryotherapy (ice bath) depends on various factors, including personal preferences, specific needs, and any medical conditions. Dry cold cryotherapy, such as a nitrogen-cooled chamber as we have used for a long time, requiring a visit to a professional, exposes the body to extremely lower temperatures (up to -190 degrees) for a short period (less than 3 minutes). It is often used for anti-inflammatory benefits, muscle recovery, and pain management. Whereas wet cryotherapy, like an ice bath, involves immersing the body in this type of tub containing cold water and/or ice. This can help reduce inflammation, relieve sore muscles, and promote recovery, but it must be admitted that it is much less comfortable. And the fact that it is done autonomously and without professional accompaniment is also less secure.
Ultimately, the choice depends on individual preferences, equipment availability, and your personal tolerance to cold. But we also believe that it is preferable to consult a healthcare professional before choosing a type of cryotherapy, especially if you have pre-existing medical conditions.
And finally, for our test in this tub, if the effects were mainly short-term, the accelerated resumption of training still marked a longer-term victory.
Advantages and some recommendations 3bikes.fr
Our verdict? Increased muscle recovery after exercise, reduced pain and inflammation, improved blood circulation, a real dopamine boost, better concentration, better sleep, better memory, an impact on motivation, reduced stress, and skin firming. So, who is this cryotherapy bath system offered by Jolt for? Well, for any physical performance enthusiast, of course, but also for the general public facing chronic ailments such as rheumatism or osteoarthritis. In short, for many, it can be an accessible and effective ally.
In conclusion…
Plunging into the Jolt Ice Bath’s icy water was an unexpected adventure. Although mental preparation was an amusing preliminary step, the concrete benefits on muscle recovery and mental balance are undeniable. Nevertheless, our recommendation on 3bikes.fr is formulated with reservation, as we question the autonomous session at home, unlike cryotherapy in a nitrogen chamber which still requires professional assistance. This disparity raises questions about the practicality and accessibility of different cryotherapy methods. Despite this, this experience has left notable benefits, particularly in terms of stress relief and revitalization.
