As the more than 20-year partnership with Groupama-FDJ comes to an end, this auction is an opportunity to own the last Lapierre bikes supplied to the team. Exclusive experiences complete the auction, including the ultimate training experience at the Groupama-FDJ Performance Center and a dinner with team manager Marc Madiot.

All cycling fans worldwide should prepare to own a piece of cycling history! The Groupama-FDJ cycling team presents an end-of-year auction to celebrate legendary moments in the sport. From November 24 to December 3, 10 bikes ridden by international cycling stars, as well as a selection of memorabilia and experiences, will be made available to fans and collectors on Catawiki, the leading online marketplace for special objects.

At the heart of this auction is Thibaut Pinot’s farewell to the world of cycling, with a centerpiece bike, the Lapierre Xelius SL Obvious, used during his last Tour de France in 2023. More than just a bike, it is a legacy embodying over a decade of cycling history. Other items belonging to the cyclist from Franche-Comté will also be auctioned on Catawiki. This includes the monumental “Tifo” featuring the champion, which was erected in the heart of the Virage Pinot at the Tour of Lombardy, the very last race of his career. The flag, over 40 m2, signed by Thibaut, will be available on the platform from November 24.

Thibaut Pinot: “These items are strong symbols of my last moments in cycling. This is the bike I had when I rode through the Virage Pinot at the Tour de France, in front of all the spectators who came to support me; it has immense sentimental value. I am happy to give a fan the chance to acquire it, thus allowing this legacy to endure over time.”

Hugo Boutin, Senior Category Lead Sports at Catawiki, said: “I am more than honored that Catawiki can offer fans the opportunity to own the items that witnessed the last legendary moments of a French cycling icon like Thibaut Pinot. We are truly offering cycling enthusiasts a unique chance to own a piece of history.”

Beyond Pinot’s legacy, the auction highlights several significant team bikes, each estimated between 7,000 and 14,000 euros: from the Lapierre Xelius SL used by Lenny Martinez, the youngest leader in Vuelta history, to the Lapierre Xelius SL of Valentin Madouas, on which he triumphed at the 2023 French Championship, as well as the Lapierre Aerostorm DRS time trial bike of Bruno Armirail, with which he won the 2022 French Time Trial Championship. Also featured is the Lapierre Aerostorm DRS time trial bike in the European champion’s colors used by Stefan Küng at the end of the 2021 season and the beginning of the 2022 season. Each bike can be personally adjusted by the team mechanics when collected at the team’s Parisian service course.

Exclusive experiences complement the auctioned items. The opportunity to train like the pros awaits an amateur rider preparing for a goal: a full day of analysis and work on bike position at the Groupama-FDJ performance center, monthly follow-ups, and a five-day training camp at the French Championship venue including training, professional massages, and the race in a VIP area close to the team. The chance to dine with Groupama-FDJ cycling team manager Marc Madiot, and thus discover the world of cycling from the inside, will also be available.

With the end of the 22-year partnership between the Groupama-FDJ cycling team and Lapierre, this is a unique opportunity to own the last Lapierre bikes used by the team. This auction also marks the end of the year for Catawiki and Groupama-FDJ, whose partnership has resonated within the international cycling community, offering historical memorabilia and fostering a legacy for generations to come.
