While the time trial events (46.1 km for men and 29.9 km for women) will feature profiles without major difficulties, the same cannot be said for the road races. After a hilly initial road section, the women will have to complete four laps of a difficult 27 km circuit, for a total of 154.1 km with 2,488 m of elevation gain. For the Elite men, seven laps will be covered, for a total of 273.9 km with a positive elevation gain of 4,470 m.
Two main difficulties make up this final circuit, with the ascent of Zürichbergstrasse (1.1 km at 8% average, 15% maximum) preceding the ascent of Witikon (2.3 km at 5.7%, 9% max), at the beginning of each lap. A third, shorter climb will precede the finish line.
