Launched in November 2021, Vazy allows users to accumulate points for every kilometer traveled on foot, by bike, or by scooter. These points can now be converted into gift cards to spend at numerous partner retailers. This back-to-school season, the application is significantly increasing its number of listed brands with one goal: to boost the purchasing power of French people.

“For many years, I often had the reflex to drive to the bakery even though it was barely more than a kilometer from my home. And by talking with friends and family, I realized that many of us grab our car keys for a short trip. We need to gradually change these habits. With this application, the idea is not to blame ‘bad’ behaviors but rather to value and reward users who opt for active mobility,” explains Loïc Robbiani, the founder of Vazy.
The concept? Geotagged by the application, the user accumulates five points for every kilometer traveled by bike, scooter, or on foot. “The technology we developed with the Vazy application allows us to know precisely, without self-declaration, if the person is indeed moving using active mobility. The advantage is also that there’s no need to ‘launch’ the application to accumulate points; it happens automatically.”
20,000 users and 50 new partner brands
The points obtained can then be converted at any time into discounts, either directly with partner brands or online. Until now, mostly located in Greater Lyon, the listed stores are now national since the September back-to-school season. Yves Rocher, Nature & Découvertes, Carrefour, Etam… in total, Vazy’s 20,000 users can now use the points obtained in 50 new brands related to sports, culture, clothing, or even home decor. That’s a total of over 8,000 points of sale across France.
“This national deployment responds to a demand from Vazy users, who wanted to benefit from the application outside of Lyon. With these new partners, we allow a maximum number of people to take advantage of the discounts offered by our application. And all this while maintaining our triptych of combining active mobility, a positive environmental impact, and increased purchasing power,” details Loïc Robbiani. Launched in November 2021, Vazy now has five employees. And this Lyon-based company will accelerate further by the end of the year, doubling its number of partner brands and points of sale.

A B2B offer to encourage good practices
In addition to its public version, Vazy offers companies and communities a customized version to motivate and reward employees who use active modes of transport for their home-to-work commutes. Each employee can see their accumulated points thanks to their travels. They also have access to their ranking compared to their colleagues. “With challenges, a healthy emulation is set up. Employees also have access to exclusive offers from local shops and major brands. And for the company, it allows for team building, improving purchasing power, and precisely calculating the carbon footprint saved.” Currently, about ten organizations are in discussions to offer this application to their employees.
