Paris-Tours 2023, one of the last classics of the season, takes place Sunday, October 8, between Chartres and Tours over 213.5 km. It offers a flat course but exposed to the wind and 10 km of vineyard paths divided into 10 sectors. In 2021 and 2022, Frenchman Arnaud Démare won. The Picardy native, recent winner of the Tour de Vendée and Paris-Bourges under his new Arkea Samsic colors, is therefore at the start for a historic hat-trick. He would then join Frenchman Paul Maye, Belgians Gustave Daneels and Guido Reybrouck, and German Eric Zabel at the top of the prize list in terms of victories. Also watch out for another Frenchman, Christophe Laporte (Jumbo-Visma), the new European champion, whose puncher qualities can make sparks fly in the final of the “Classique des feuilles mortes” (Race of the Dead Leaves).
