Official partner of the Tour de France since 2022, Santini creates outfits dedicated to the stages of the Grande Boucle to celebrate the territories crossed by telling their story. Santini chose the Italian Bike Festival in Misano Adriatico to unveil the outfit that honors Florence and Emilia-Romagna, hosts of the 2024 Grand Départ.
The design of this outfit illustrates the closeness between France and Italy, united around this Grand Départ, with 3 stages entirely traced on the Boot: Florence – Rimini on June 29; Cesenatico – Bologna on June 30; Piacenza – Turin on July 1.
“The starting point for the design of this Grand Départ jersey is the iconic Tour logo, and in particular, the yellow circle that is present and resembles a wheel,” says Fergus Niland, Santini’s creative director. “We added other round elements in the colors of the French and Italian flags to this characteristic graphic element, which creates another circular figure.”

This multicolored circular shape is placed in the center of the jersey, front and back, and is repeated on the bib shorts, base layer, and on the three accessories: gloves, cap, and socks. The jersey and base layer feature other graphic elements on a yellow background, which refer to the Tour, such as the number 111, which corresponds to the 2024 edition, the names of the six Italian start and finish cities of the first three stages, and the altimetric profile of these three routes.
Technically, the jersey has a classic cut and is made of a combination of light and breathable fabrics and raw-cut sleeves. The matching base layer is sleeveless with an elongated cut, while the bib shorts are made of a medium compression fabric and equipped with a grip at the bottom of the thigh, so that they always stay in place, and breathable mesh straps. The GITevo chamois features gel padding to progressively absorb shocks and ensure maximum comfort even on very long rides.
The Grand Départ kit will be available on the website www.santinicycling.com from the end of November 2023.
