The winners of the 2nd edition of La Transju’Cyclo

At 31 years old, Belgian Michiel Minneart won the sprint in the queen event of La Transju’Cyclo, the 165 km race. He completed the course in 4h21’22 at an average speed of 38.3 km/h. “I started a bit too fast, I arrived a little early at the Thésy climb and was able to ride at my own pace. We were a group of 7 riders for the first part of the race, then there were only 3 of us at the Col de République. It then came down to a sprint, and I’m super happy with this victory. The Jura is really beautiful, and the roads were also very good. It’s my first time in the Jura, and I really enjoyed it.” The professional and event ambassador, Clément Berthet of the AG2R CITROËN TEAM, finished the 165 km in 7th position after 4h28’32 of racing.

They said

The President of the Jura department and of the Communauté de Communes Champagnole Nozeroy Jura, Clément Pernot: “It’s important to affirm our cycling sports identity in all its diversity. La Transju’Cyclo is a continuation of all the promotion we are building with national-level cycling events. The Jura is a land of cycling.”

The Mayor of Champagnole, Guy Saillard: “We are happy to host La Transju’Cyclo once again; we are used to hosting cycling events in Champagnole. With over 1,200 participants, that’s just as many people coming to discover our beautiful department. The Jura is a land of cycling, it’s a playground, and it’s true that with global warming, thinking about spring, summer, and autumn activities in the Jura is something we need to do now.”

Pierre-Albert Vandel, President of Trans’Organisation: “There are many positive points: we had good weather, many participants since we had to limit numbers a bit, and everything went well in terms of safety. We are laying good foundations to progress in the coming years; we have a few issues to resolve to improve next year and welcome even more competitors.”

With over 1,200 participants over two days, bringing together amateurs, elites, and professionals, the 2nd edition of La Transju’Cyclo delivered on all its promises. The organizers, Trans’Organisation and Sport Premium, are already looking forward to the 3rd edition in 2024.
