Stay cool this summer with Polartec Delta cooling fabric

Polartec Delta is a cooling fabric that works differently from Power Dry or Power Grid. It uses our sweat as an ally, as our body naturally does, rather than wicking it away as quickly as possible.

Polartec Delta is a two-component knit, meaning two different fibers are assembled. In the case of Delta, a synthetic fiber and a natural fiber have been knitted together in a matrix to perform two different functions.

• Natural lyocell fiber yarns absorb and distribute the water from your sweat throughout the fabric. This works a bit like the coolant in a car radiator. These natural lyocell fiber yarns transport sweat, allowing your skin to benefit from evaporative cooling as the sweat dries.

• Synthetic fiber yarns resist water absorption and create interspersed dry zones in the fabric to promote maximum breathability and comfortable drying time. The special knit structure uses raised contact points to eliminate wet skin cling. Additionally, the chosen yarns have a naturally cool feel, so wearing this type of garment in hot weather is truly appreciated.

Polartec has also added an odor refresher to complete the experience: Fresh Face, made from mint oil, which is being launched for the first time this summer. Fabrics that quickly absorb moisture are among the most useful to wear. For example, they make excellent base layers, under a mid-layer and an outer layer, when you want them to continue wicking moisture to keep you as dry as possible. Delta comes into its own when you’re exerting yourself and the temperature is high.
