DT Swiss introduces its sealant

The DT Swiss Tubeless range is now completed by DT Swiss Tubeless sealant. To achieve the optimal combination of tubeless components, DT Swiss now offers two specific tubeless sealant pressures to ensure constant tire pressure.

The high-pressure tubeless sealant is mainly intended for systems that operate at high pressure, such as those found on road bike tires.

The low-pressure sealant is designed for tires with a larger air volume that are mounted at a lower pressure, often in off-road use.

The high-pressure Tubeless sealant is intended for uses where tire pressures are between 4 and 7.5 bar, such as on road or track. It will immediately repair cuts up to 3 mm thanks to particles that are thicker than those in a classic sealant. The high-pressure Tubeless sealant is compatible with CO2 cartridges and is available in 60 ml bottles.

Features

Capacity 60 ml

Max pressure 9.0 bar (130 psi)

Recommended pressure 4.0 – 7.5 bar (58 – 108 psi)

Repairs holes up to 3 mm

Recommended quantity per tire from 23 to 35 mm: 60 ml

Price starting from €12.90

As for the low-pressure sealant, it works best in a pressure range up to 4.5 bar. Thus, this sealant is intended for use in MTB and Gravel. It is designed to instantly seal holes in the tire up to 6 mm and contains neither ammonium nor latex. It is available in 240 ml and 1 L.

The Tubeless Sealant completes the DT Swiss Tubeless range. It joins the valve, rim tape, and of course the tubeless-ready rims to offer a number of advantages over the conventional inner tube and tire combination.

Tubeless allows riding with a lower risk of flats. In addition, the tire can be used with lower pressures, offering better grip. The lower pressure also results in a more comfortable ride. Eliminating the inner tube means there is no friction between the inner tube and the tire, and therefore less rolling resistance when the tire rolls over the ground and obstacles. If a sealant is used, the tire can seal a large majority of holes.

A big advantage for all those who like to ride long distances and far from the nearest bike shop.
