Heroic Cycling, Celebrated by the New Santini Collection

Santini and Eroica, the world’s most famous vintage cycling event, present a new collection inspired by the event’s values and celebrating its unique character. Wool and technical fabric apparel, accessories, and a wide range of t-shirts and casual wear, to experience the vintage cycling movement on and off the bike.

L’Eroica is the event inspired by the birth of classic cycling, an opportunity to rediscover the roots of the sport. Over the years, alongside the original edition in Gaiole in Chianti, Eroica events have sprung up all over the world: a true movement that evokes the myths of vintage cycling and which Santini, with its history of more than half a century, lends its credibility and expertise in cycling apparel of yesterday and today, celebrates these events with a new collection.

The Bergamo-based company has been a partner of the event since 2015 and this year is launching a collection that includes Eroica Approved apparel, meaning clothing that can be regularly worn in Eroica races, inspired by the historical values of cycling, and also a casual line of official Eroica t-shirts and sweatshirts.

The Original Wool and Modern Wool lines: wool garments like those from cycling’s past

To relive the sensations of vintage cycling, riding on the dusty roads of L’Eroica like a cyclist of yesteryear, Santini offers garments made entirely of wool. The Spazio and Vento jerseys are enhanced with mother-of-pearl buttons on the back pockets and short metal zippers, just like in the good old days.

Modern wool garments, on the other hand, are made from a blend of merino wool and polyester, making them more similar to modern technical apparel but with a touch of vintage style: a blend of tradition and technology. This refers to the Luce jersey and the Eroica bib shorts. The latter are made with wool on the outer layer and polyamide on the inside and are equipped with the Santini GIT chamois with a gel insert, to give a heroic look but enjoy the comfort of modern technology. The chosen colors are white, red, and burgundy, and for the Luce jersey also dark green.

The Technical Garments collection: apparel for him and her

A line of microfiber garments in red and burgundy for him, pink and burgundy for her, plus a very lightweight windproof jacket that folds into its own pocket. The 2023 men’s offering consists of the Brina and Sole jerseys, to be combined with the Brina bib shorts, while for her Santini offers the Sogno jersey. The look is completed by a cap that can also be worn under the helmet, and socks available in three colors: black, red, and white.

To experience Eroica every day

To bring a bit of the heroic spirit to the city and everyday life, Santini has created a line of casual wear: t-shirts for him, for her, and for the little ones, sweatshirts and hoodies, a cap with the Eroica logo, and two thin pure silk scarves. The scarves are a tribute to cycling of yesteryear, where they were used to protect the mouth from dust raised during the race.
