Historic victories and a promising start to the season will be the themes of the first auction on Catawiki featuring the Groupama-FDJ cycling team. Cycling aficionados now have access to numerous unique items used by the team; Thibaut Pinot’s bike used during the Vuelta, a signed jersey from David Gaudu’s first race in 2023, or a bottle of prosecco from the Giro podium signed by Arnaud Démare. The first jersey worn by the great cycling hopeful Romain Grégoire will also be auctioned, as well as the one used to unveil the team’s brand new cycling kit design, signed by eight of its riders. These auctions will allow the team to share its journey and open up to sports enthusiasts worldwide.

Later in the year, three more Groupama-FDJ auctions will take place on the platform with items celebrating the team’s most legendary races, including Paris Roubaix, the Giro, and the Tour de France. Fans will also have the opportunity to bid on a unique experience: spending a day with Marc Madiot, General Manager of the Groupama-FDJ cycling team, during a stage of the Tour de France, and interacting with the team, to gain privileged access behind the scenes of the race.

Thibaut Pinot’s unique Lapierre bike, specially designed for him, will be exhibited alongside 60 other treasures at the House Of Catawiki, Catawiki’s very first event in Paris, on April 15. In the heart of the Marais, within the emblematic 3537, visitors can disconnect and immerse themselves in the world of auctions and collectibles during an immersive journey. Visitors will also have the opportunity to bring a photo of a personal item or the item itself and have it appraised free of charge by one of Catawiki’s experts present at the event, by registering here.

‘’We are very happy to embark on this new experience with Catawiki. Through the items we offer, we want to share moments from our team’s life, memories dear to our hearts, with cycling enthusiasts. The closeness and attachment to our followers, to those who accompany and support us every day, at home or on the roadside, is what has driven us for 27 years. We hope that the lots offered in this sale, as well as in all those to come, will please our supporters and allow them to take home a piece of our team’s soul. Cycling is a popular sport, our victories, our defeats, our emotions are the heritage of enthusiasts and we are proud today to be able to share it.” explains Marc Madiot, General Manager of the Groupama-FDJ cycling team.

‘’I am very happy that my bike is being presented for this launch sale with Catawiki. I had some great moments, some great climbs on this machine in 2022, on the Tour de l’Ain or on the Vuelta. It will now have a second life. I like the idea that a bike or an outfit that accompanied me for a season or a race can now make cycling enthusiasts happy.’’ specifies Thibaut Pinot, former Groupama-FDJ team cyclist.

Genevieve Tearle, Vice President Collectibles at Catawiki, comments: ‘’We are thrilled to be working with the best cycling team in France and to offer sports fans the opportunity to own some of the items that have made Groupama-FDJ so identifiable, as well as unforgettable experiences to share with the team. Following collaborations with AS Monaco and the world’s fastest marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge, this is another strategic partnership for Catawiki responding to the growing demand for sports memorabilia auctions that we have seen on our platform in recent years; last year alone, the category grew by more than twenty-five percent globally.”
