CYCLING – The PLB Muco in Callac on June 24, 2023

The PLB Muco is a national, sporting, and solidarity event, organized by Vaincre la Mucoviscidose (Fighting Cystic Fibrosis) to support research and improve the quality of care and life for patients. It is a day organized around several sporting events, including cycling routes and hiking trails. The PLB Muco is one of the largest cycling gatherings in France! In 2023, the PLB Muco celebrates its 31st edition.

Each year, more than 6,000 cyclists and nearly 1,000 hikers take part in the PLB Muco to foster hope of one day conquering the disease! Whatever the level of each participant, a suitable formula is offered.

A friendly and festive moment

Beyond the sporting routes, the PLB is also a moment of conviviality and family and friendly reunions. On the day of the event, the village of Callac plans more than 7,000 meals prepared and served at lunchtime by local farmers. In the afternoon, all participants are invited to relax around open-air concerts.

2023 Routes

Open to young and old, to enthusiasts and novices alike, this day is designed to be accessible to everyone! For this 31st edition, the program is more than appealing! The 4 routes offered in 2022 are renewed this year. Note the simplification of the 135 km route. There will be 2 fewer climbs after Scrignac to reduce the elevation gain. Make your choice from the proposed routes!

• Sportive: 135 km and 1780 m D+, start 9 am, price: 31 €
• Cyclotourism (e-bikes accepted): 135 km and 1780 m D+, 100 km and 1300 m D+, 60 km and 790 m D+, 25 km and 300 m D+. Prices: from 17 to 31 € (4 € surcharge if registering on site on June 23 and 24)

Registration procedures

3 possibilities exist to register for the event (online registrations are preferred).

• Online: on the plbmuco.org website until Thursday midnight. Fill out the form (front/back): you will receive your bib number by e-mail or by mail if you include a stamped envelope at the current rate, addressed to your name and address, with your registration.
• On site: 4€ surcharge on Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24.
• For hikes, registration is done on site, at the Callac gymnasium, on Friday, June 23 from 3 pm to 7 pm, and on Saturday, June 24 until 10:30 am.

The Fighters’ Race

In 1995 and 1996, during the PLB Muco, a relay race was organized between patients, artisans, and employees of the Chambre des métiers des Côtes d’Armor. 27 years later, the organizer invites patients and caregivers to combine their breath and participate as a duo in the PLB Muco by taking part in the Fighters’ Race. This race symbolizes the fighting spirit of patients and caregivers/researchers. Thanks to progress, some patients are able to lend their breath to patients with therapeutic impasses. Patients have been fighting to breathe since birth, and caregivers/researchers fight alongside them to support them throughout their lives.

To participate, two solutions: Register as a duo with dlebars@vaincrelamuco.org.

• Pay 34 € for the duo.
• Free registration under conditions: Open a personal fundraising page and collect a minimum of 100 €: Go to the website: mondefi.vaincrelamuco.org, Choose PLB MUCO in Our Events, Click on “I create my fundraising page” and follow the creation steps by filling in all the requested information.
