On Sunday, March 26, 2023, Cannes will host the Gran Fondo New-York (GFNY) cycling event. For this second edition, two courses are offered: a 111 km competition loop with 2,013 m of elevation gain that uses the roads of the Haut Var, and a 57 km touring loop with 978 m of elevation gain. Competitors will start by climbing the Tanneron massif, ascending the Grand Duc side, then will ride along the magnificent roads of the Alpes-Maritimes and Var regions, with their balconies overlooking the Mediterranean and the Préalpes d’Azur. GFNY Cannes is one of many events in the municipal program Cannes, Capital of Outdoor Sports, launched in 2016 by David Lisnard, Mayor of Cannes.
