The Continental Grand Prix 5000 TT TR tire joins the Grand Prix 5000 TR lineup and is designed for the highest possible speed

Continental announces the addition of the Grand Prix 5000 TT TR to the Grand Prix 5000 tubeless tire lineup. Previously released as a limited-edition 25 mm tire to celebrate the 2022 Tour de France, the Grand Prix 5000 TT TR will now be available in 28 mm.

The ultimate speed-focused tubeless bike tire, the Grand Prix 5000 TT TR offers racing cyclists the lowest possible weight and rolling resistance thanks to an optimized tread thickness and construction designed to reduce material deformation at the point of contact between the road and the tire. The Grand Prix 5000 TT TR features extensively researched puncture protection and tear resistance.

Developed through an ongoing partnership with the world’s fastest professional cyclists and validated by Dan Bigham and Fillipo Ganna during their 2022 hour records, the Grand Prix 5000 TT TR is 35 g lighter in the 25 mm size than Continental’s Grand Prix 5000 S TR of the same size. As with all Continental Grand Prix 5000 tires in 25, the new Grand Prix 5000 TT TR tire is compatible with hookless rims up to 21 mm wide and is fully Tubeless Ready, giving riders the freedom to choose their preferred tire setup. In the 28 mm size, the tire is compatible with hookless rims up to 25 mm wide and weighs 235 g. A pair consisting of a 25 mm front tire and a 28 mm rear tire offers the lowest overall rolling resistance and the best racing performance.

Available exclusively with black sidewalls, the Grand Prix 5000 TT TR uses the BlackChili compound for the best possible balance between rolling resistance and grip.

In addition, Vectran Breaker liquid-crystal polymers are used to provide puncture protection and tear resistance five times greater than that of comparable nylon protection. The Lazer Grip stretchable tread structure allows for sharper cornering angles, and Active Comfort technology provides excellent vibration absorption.

Oliver Anhuth, Head of Marketing for TwoWheel Tires at Continental, said: “We are thrilled to introduce the Grand Prix 5000 TT TR to riders and teams as a permanent addition to the Grand Prix 5000 TR lineup. Riders now have the option to choose the perfect tire for their racing tactics—whether they’re chasing a personal best, a sprint finish, or a world record.”
