ENVE Introduces the MOG, a Gravel Bike Specifically Designed to Meet the High-Performance and Versatility Demands of Today’s Gravel Cyclists and Racers.

In 2021, ENVE launched its first complete bike, the Custom Road, and in 2022 the brand added the Melee, a modern race bike. With these platforms and the new MOG Gravel bike, ENVE continues its evolution from a wheel and component specialist to a bike brand. The MOG is offered in six frame sizes from 49 to 60 cm and is manufactured overseas in the ENVE factory.
“With the MOG, we are introducing ENVE’s definition of the modern gravel bike. As passionate gravel riders and racers ourselves, our goal was to create a platform that offers the versatility, simplicity, and performance that we, and today’s gravel riders, demand,” said Jake Pantone, VP of Brand.

The MOG’s outstanding features include 700c-specific geometry, tire clearance up to 50 mm, and the ENVE Cargo Bay, which provides storage in the frame’s down tube. While aerodynamics were not the MOG’s primary priority, it uses tube shapes borrowed from aerodynamically optimized road frames. Internal routing for hoses and cables is handled by the ENVE IN-Route system for optimized routing.
“Fans of 650b gravel wheels may ask why the wheel size was removed from the MOG’s scope. After years of testing and evaluating 650b, it became clear that, as with mountain biking, high-volume tires on a 700c rim were the best compromise. From there, we committed to designing the MOG so that it could use large 700c tires, while eliminating the need for flip-chips or other solutions to accommodate two different wheel sizes,” said Pantone.
“Because we ride and race our gravel bikes on such a variety of surfaces and conditions ranging from extremely rough to smooth, we strove to ensure that the MOG’s geometry and design offer a balanced ride in all environments. Knowing that there is a wide range of uses for a gravel bike, from racing to adventure, or a combination of both, it was also important for us to offer a range of component options that allow each rider to adapt the MOG to their needs through handlebar and seatpost options,” said Neil Shirley, ENVE’s Marketing Director.

In terms of construction, the MOG is made from various unidirectional carbon fiber laminates using ENVE’s Material Optimized Design (MOD) process. “Simply put, Material Optimized Design means designing and manufacturing products that leverage the strengths of carbon fiber. The materials, fiber weight, and fiber angles used in the laminate are selected and manipulated to achieve specific performance in the frame area. Carbon is the key ingredient, and we use the best available, but ultimately, it’s the process it undergoes that makes the whole an ENVE product,” Pantone explained.
Fit and geometry are another area where ENVE has paid particular attention with its new bike. The MOG is available in six frame sizes, with three fork offsets to ensure that riders of all sizes will have the same inspiring handling that the MOG is designed to offer.

When ENVE introduced the Custom Road in 2021, they introduced the ENVE Chassis. An ENVE Chassis is a canvas on which you can create the bike of your dreams. The MOG is available as “chassis only” which includes the frame, fork, headset, handlebar, stem, and seatpost. The handlebar, stem, and seatpost are selected à la carte to ensure that customers get the exact fit specifications they need from the start. Four IN-Route compatible handlebars are available, in addition to options between a dropper or fixed seatpost, ensuring that each customer can build the MOG best suited to their needs.
To facilitate the installation process, ENVE created the ENVE Best-Fit Calculator. “Your bike should be an extension of your body and we want people to get that seamless feel from the very first pedal stroke. Our calculator aims to simplify the installation process for both the seller and the customer. The calculator simply works by matching the Stack, Reach, and saddle height with the frame geometry. The calculator provides the rider with several frame and component configuration options that the rider, with their advisor, can analyze to determine the ‘best fit’ option,” said Pantone.

For additional customization and adjustment, the MOG customer can then select the ENVE wheelset of their choice. The MOG is initially available in a single color, but ENVE offers MOG customers the option to design a custom sticker kit in conjunction with the French distributor, Mohawk’s. The kit includes stickers for the head tube, stem, down tube, and seat tube.
The MOG is available now in all sizes. The ENVE MOG chassis costs €5,799 and includes the frame, fork, headset, stem, handlebar, and seatpost. The MOG is also available as a complete bike starting at €7,999 with Sram Rival AXS.
