Lighter, wider, more comfortable, and just as strong: these were the goals Origine set when the brand decided to redesign the Prymahl Orion range. To achieve this result, Origine had to reinvent its design process. The only point retained concerns the pure performance level of the current Orion range. It had to at least equal or surpass it by increasing the comfort factor.
Origine therefore revised its process, because to meet the specifications, it was not possible to reproduce what had already been developed for the existing range. The brand therefore selected a new fiber with a different molding technique than what had been used until now. Directly inspired by Origine frame molding technology, the brand transposed and adapted UML (Unique Matrix Layup) molding to Prymahl wheels. The carbon sheets are compressed at high pressure and heat to eliminate 100% of imperfections, air bubbles, or internal excess thickness.
This with several objectives:
- Lighten the rim by removing superfluous material
- Strengthen the rim by using only pure carbon fiber without internal glue residue
- Dissipate vibrations. Vibration hits imperfections (glue residue, excess fiber); without imperfections, vibration dissipates, making your bike more comfortable without adding unnecessary weight.
- Achieve perfect inertia

To assemble this type of rim, state-of-the-art equipment is needed, but above all, expert assemblers are required, because nothing replaces human skill and expertise to achieve such precise results. Prymahl wheels are hand-assembled with mechanical and digital control; there is no trial and error, no possible error. The wheel leaves the assembly bench at 100% of its dynamic qualities. A team of 6 wheel builders, specially trained for nearly 3 years, all cyclists and cycling enthusiasts, ensure the assembly of your Prymahl wheels. In terms of numbers, the rims widen from 19 mm to 21 mm, the C35s are 80g lighter, and the C50s are 60g lighter.
