In 2023, Julbo becomes an official partner of the Groupama-FDJ professional cycling team for 3 years! The brand thus confirms its desire to be present in the cycling world by equipping the riders of one of the best global teams. The team, which competes at WorldTour level, participates in the biggest races on the calendar, with the Tour de France as the highlight of the season. In terms of products, the WorldTour team will be equipped with helmets, while its younger sister “La Conti,” which competes at a lower level, will be equipped with helmets and glasses. This partnership therefore aims to establish Julbo permanently in the international cycling landscape.
This partnership makes sense, notably because Julbo’s DNA and that of the Groupama-FDJ professional cycling team share many common points. First and foremost, both share a true passion for performance. On Julbo’s side, this is reflected in the existence of a research and development department that constantly strives to offer products at the forefront of innovation. Examples include the EVAD-1 connected smart glasses, a technological feat, and more recently the new Reactiv 0-4 lens. On the Groupama-FDJ professional cycling team’s side, the performance hub and the R&D unit attest to this. These entities work on equipment and rider health within the Besançon Performance Center, without ever compromising ethical principles.

A logical next step for the brand
Becoming a partner of the Groupama-FDJ professional cycling team appears to be a logical next step for the brand, which already enjoys a certain legitimacy in cycling. Indeed, Julbo has already been equipping David Gaudu since 2021. The team’s climber, who recently finished 4th in the 2022 Tour de France, also benefits from the RX program, which allows him to ride with sunglasses adapted to his vision. A small revolution for a rider who had previously had to make do with unsuitable products: “It’s comfort for the head, vision, and the central periphery of the upper body. Every percentage of fatigue saved is an extra percentage you put into the bike. And every detail counts.” In addition to David Gaudu, Lenny Martinez and Bruno Armirail have joined the Julbo family this year. They too will wear the brand’s glasses, while all the riders will be equipped with the 2 helmets developed in the Jura.
