The new BH Ultralight EVO: a lightweight bike with an aerodynamic design

The BH Ultralight EVO has been completely redesigned and now features a new look with lines inspired by the successful BH Aerolight. It retains the DNA of its predecessor in terms of responsiveness and lightness, but benefits from significant aerodynamic improvements. The new BH Ultralight EVO is more versatile than ever.

Within the BH road range, the Ultralight EVO stands as the benchmark for high-level competition. A bike with a clear objective: to fly on climbs. To achieve this, it requires minimal weight, exceptional stiffness, and perfect positioning so that every pedal stroke translates into power. Integration and aerodynamics now complement these aspects, which have defined the Ultralight’s personality since its launch.

BH Ultralight EVO, renowned for its lightness

The remarkable characteristic of the BH Ultralight EVO is its lightness. It is the brand’s lightest road bike frame, benefiting from the best technology used by BH in carbon processing. The HCIM (Hollow Core Internal Molding) manufacturing process, used for BH’s high-end carbon bikes, is also a key feature of this model, allowing for the production of a frame without excess material inside the tubes and controlling the thickness of each section down to the last millimeter. This is the way to ensure the best stiffness-to-weight ratio.

Improved stiffness, a key element of the BH Ultralight EVO

While lightness is crucial on climbs, stiffness is just as important. To achieve optimal stiffness, BH opted for a BB386 EVO bottom bracket shell. A BH standard, which allows for a bottom bracket width of 86.5mm, and the use of wider section tubes in critical areas. This results in greater stiffness without any increase in weight. Inspired by the Aerolight, the chainstays benefit from new, curved shapes for more compactness and greater stiffness without added weight. This new design has not only increased its explosiveness, a well-known characteristic of the Ultralight, but also improved vibration absorption.

Air Bow fork: new look and new aerodynamic properties

The Air Bow fork was first introduced with the BH Aerolight. A new design that offers greater tire clearance and allows for better airflow and improved aerodynamics. These same assets now benefit the BH Ultralight EVO, bringing it, for the first time in its history, a notion of aerodynamic performance. In addition, the characteristic shape of the fork gives the BH Ultralight EVO a whole new look for a more assertive personality than ever. It should be noted that each size has its own exclusive fork offset, custom-made to achieve the best possible handling.

The BH Ultralight EVO now joins the latest trend: integration

Visually, the BH Ultralight EVO is cleaner and more elegant than ever. The use of the new Air Bow fork is not the only explanation. It benefits from fully internal cable routing with no visible housing. The head tube and cockpit draw continuous lines that improve aerodynamics. BH has added a fully integrated saddle clamp system that is completely hidden, while remaining practical and simple to adjust. For the wheels, an important detail is the use of thru-axles with the Quick Lever system, where the opening lever is concealed inside the axle. This means you don’t need any tools to open or close them, even if no lever is visible at first glance.

Range and customization on the BH Ultralight EVO

The BH Ultralight EVO range includes 4 models starting from €5699 and all can be customized via the BH Unique program.
