Colnago launches the V4RS, the UAE Team Emirates team bike

Previewed by Tadej Pogacar’s UAE Team Emirates riders since the Tour de France and until now soberly named Prototipo, the Colnago V4RS is officially launched and succeeds the multi-victorious V3RS. On the program: more stiffness and more aerodynamic efficiency for the Italian brand’s all-rounder bike.

The V4RS retains lines similar to its predecessor, but it is in the details that subtle aesthetic differences can be seen, primarily intended to improve aerodynamics. The frame still retains a slight sloping top tube, the brake hoses are perfectly integrated, and it adopts a T47 bottom bracket shell. But it is now available in seven sizes (instead of eight), now accepts tires up to 32 mm in width, and receives a new cockpit that greatly contributes to drag reduction.

Beyond the new cockpit, the tube lines are subtly worked to improve aerodynamics.

In terms of stiffness, Colnago claims that the V4RS has gained 4% when riding out of the saddle and 5% when seated compared to the V3RS.

The seatpost is D-shaped, and the seatstays are designed to provide both comfort and aerodynamics.

No real evolution in terms of weight, as the V4RS frameset is substantially identical to the previous model, already relatively light with a frame around 800 g, meaning a complete bike around 7 kg.

The Colnago V4RS is only available for disc brakes.

The frameset is announced at €5599, a price equivalent to other high-end models on the market. For the complete bike, the Team Edition model, similar to the one that will be used by Team UAE in 2023, with Shimano Dura Ace Di2 (with power meter) and Enve 3.4 wheels, is announced at €16199.
