11 Ironmans during the boat show for Pascal Pich

Pascal Pich, the extreme ultra-triathlete, takes on the surreal challenge of completing 11 Ironmans during the boat show. For a world record, and a good cause.

Pascal Pich is embarking on a new extraordinary challenge, pushing the limits of the human body: breaking the world record for the number of static Ironmans in one year. Named “NO LIMIT”, this crazy project, which began in May 2022, aims to complete 120 Ironmans in 365 days, which means: 456 km of swimming, 21,600 km of cycling, 5,076 km of running.

The Paris Boat Show is one of 11 events where Pascal Pich will attempt to achieve his final goal. From December 3 to 10, 2022, the 58-year-old from Gard aims to cover: 41.8 km of swimming, 1980 km of cycling, and 464.2 km of running, all statically from Hall 2.2 of La Porte de Versailles.

He will start with an Ironman on the first day, then tackle a Deca Ironman. Only about thirty people in the world have been able to complete a Deca Ironman, and 5 of them have done it a maximum of 5 times.

Pascal Pich, who already has 7, hopes to reach 10 by the end of this “NO LIMIT” challenge. The program includes 22 hours of superhuman effort per day, alternating swimming in a counter-current pool, cycling on a fixed-gear indoor trainer, and running on a mechanical treadmill. With only 2 hours of sleep per day, Pascal pushes the limits of the human body. These feats are accompanied by scientists, who collect data from this force of nature and contribute to studies by INSEP, among others.

This military man is no stranger to remarkable achievements. With a colossal track record (five-time ultra-triathlon world champion and one-time European champion), he also holds 19 world records (14 in ultra-triathlon and 5 in ultra-cycling). This initiative is also intended to be supportive, because beyond the world record attempt, Pascal Pich’s goal is to highlight causes with which he shares values. On the occasion of the Paris Boat Show, he will collect donations for the charity “Rêves de gosse”, which fights for the acceptance of differences and inclusion.

“To surpass oneself and explore the limits of one’s body is a goal; to do it to support an association is paramount!” Pascal Pich.
