Garmin unveils new updates and features available on a selection of smartwatches: fēnix 7 series, epix, tactix 7, Enduro 2, MARQ II, Forerunner 255 series, Forerunner 955 series – and coming soon for the Forerunner 945 LTE and Edge 1040 and Edge Explore 2 GPS bike computers.
New features for smartwatches include:
- Running Power (without additional accessories) which allows you to display running power data on your watch without needing a third-party application.
- Morning Report gives you access each morning to the day’s weather, calendar, daily workout suggestions, and information on sleep time, training readiness level, and HRV status. This report is fully customizable to display only the information of your choice.
- Hill-Adjusted Pace. Uphill or downhill, runners can now get their equivalent pace on flat terrain, making it easier to maintain a consistent effort.
- NextFork™ feature indicates the distance to the next intersection and displays the name of the next trail to follow.
- Auto Rest (Ultrarun activity profile) includes a timer that records time spent at aid stations to better manage time during races.
- Snowboard activity profile allows you to distinguish snowboarding from mountaineering by displaying specific data related to ascent and descent.
- Disc Golf activity profile for frisbee golf allows you to measure statistics and, for those who wish, access 14,000 courses to train via the UDisc Connect IQ application.
New features for GPS bike computers:
- Real-time tracking automatically shares the route taken with loved ones to keep them informed of speed and kilometers covered.
- Supporter messaging allows you to receive encouraging messages from loved ones when the bike computer is paired with a compatible smartphone.
- Individual coaching offers daily training advice and suggestions, taking into account performance, recovery, and upcoming events listed in the Garmin Connect™ calendar. This feature is only available on Edge 1040 series models.
Users can benefit from these updates for free, on their smartwatch or GPS bike computer, by enabling automatic updates or by using Garmin Express software.
