The Fausto Coppi returns in 2023! Registration opens November 21st

Registration for the 2023 La Fausto Coppi granfondo in Cuneo, Italy, opens on November 21: mark your calendars for Sunday, June 25.

La Fausto Coppi is back! One of the most popular events in Italy, Europe, and beyond, is returning. ASD Fausto Coppi on the road, the event organizers, are pleased to announce that registration for the 2023 edition will open on November 21, 2022.

This is news that many enthusiasts have been waiting for: the event date is set for the weekend of June 25, 2023, and, as with previous editions, the number of participants is limited to 2,800.

For its 34th edition, after a break in 2022, La Fausto Coppi is back with its two famous routes: Granfondo of 177 km and 4,125 meters of elevation gain, and Mediofondo of 111 km and 2,500 meters of elevation gain. The King of the Mountains for both routes is set on the legendary Colle Fauniera, with its 22.3 km climb up to 2,481 meters of altitude where the monument dedicated to Marco Pantani is located.

The start is set for 7 AM on Sunday, June 25, from Piazza Galimberti in Cuneo, where cyclists can collect their race packs and visit the event expo starting on Friday. “The Cuneo area has a great cycling tradition, and La Fausto Coppi is a highly anticipated event for enthusiasts,” comment Davide Lauro and Emma Mana, event organizers. “After a year’s hiatus, we accepted the invitation of many friends to bring back the granfondo. We are convinced that all together, we organizers, our partners, and the public and private bodies that support us, will be able to offer cyclists from all over the world a day that symbolizes the outdoors and the passion for two wheels that characterizes our province.”

Cuneo Mayor Patrizia Manassero commented: “For Cuneo and our territory, the return of La Fausto Coppi is excellent news. I thank the organizers for this renewed commitment; we immediately offered our support and worked to ensure that this much-loved event could take place again. La Fausto Coppi represents several things at once: sport and the promotion of the territory, but also an opportunity for cyclists from all over the world to meet and test their passion.” As usual, the La Fausto Coppi jersey, provided to each participant, must be worn throughout the race. This year, the almost decade-old volunteer operation Salviamo le Strade di Montagna (Let’s Save the Mountain Roads) is also renewed. 200 spots at 120 euros each will allow volunteers to start in the front row and thus help maintain the roads where the event takes place.

Registration will open, as mentioned, on November 21 on the ENDU.net website at the following link: https://api.endu.net/r/i/78767.

Registration fees are:

– €50 until 12/31/2022
– €60 until 04/30/2023
– €70 from 05/01/2023 to 06/21/2023, until the 2,800 available spots are filled.
– Volunteer operation: 200 spots at €120.00 each.

The organizing committee is working on a major event, full of ideas and new projects so that the more than 5,000 enthusiasts – including cyclists and families – who will arrive in Cuneo can spend a weekend of pure cycling pleasure.
