Garmin today unveils the Instinct Crossover: the latest model in the rugged and connected Instinct smartwatch range. The Instinct Crossover is a hybrid GPS watch designed for those who appreciate classic analog models but don’t want to compromise on essential smartwatch features. The digital display is easy to read, and the luminous hands align to provide quick access to 24/7 health tracking functions and numerous activity profiles. What’s more, versions equipped with a solar lens offer battery life measured in months, not days.
“We created the Instinct Crossover for highly active individuals who appreciate the design of a traditional watch and want to combine it with the features of a modern smartwatch,” says Dan Bartel, Garmin Vice President of Global Sales. “No longer do you have to compromise between tradition and technology, the Instinct Crossover reinvents and redefines the modern adventure smartwatch.”
Redefining Ruggedness
To meet the expectations of Garmin Instinct series enthusiasts, the Crossover series combines an elegant design with an intuitive experience, thanks to new luminous analog hands featuring Super-LumiNova technology.
The analog hands are superimposed on a high-resolution digital display that provides easy access to all detailed data. The Instinct Crossover is heat and shock resistant, complies with MIL-STD-810, and is water-rated to 10 ATM.
Thanks to Garmin’s new RevoDrive technology, it also offers precise analog display, whether during an activity or in difficult environmental conditions. If the watch suffers a significant impact during an adventure, the RevoDrive system will automatically recalibrate to display the exact atomic time.
Unlimited Battery Life
The Instinct Crossover Solar offers unlimited battery life in analog mode thanks to its solar lens, up to 31 hours in GPS mode, and 70 days in smartwatch mode. The standard model, meanwhile, can provide nearly a month of battery life in smartwatch mode and up to 40 days in expedition GPS mode.
Staying Healthy While Connected
The Instinct Crossover features a wide range of health and wellness tracking functions, as well as numerous tools to help you better understand your body and achieve your goals faster. It allows you to monitor and record key health metrics, such as advanced sleep analysis and sleep score, heart rate, stress level, and Body Battery energy level.
For fitness enthusiasts, the Instinct Crossover now includes VO2 Max, Pulse Ox sensor, Fitness Age, daily workout suggestions, HRV status, and recovery management.
To support every move, the Instinct Crossover connects to smartphones to receive various notifications, use Garmin Pay contactless payment, and access the Garmin Connect app and the Connect IQ store.
Everyday Navigation System
Off the beaten path, the Instinct Crossover offers GPS tracking, multi-GNSS support, ABC sensors, and the TracBack feature to return to the starting point using the same route as on the way out. It is also possible to add a reference point to aid in location and orientation.
The Instinct Crossover Tactical Edition builds on tactical features such as night vision, stealth mode, dual-format GPS position, an emergency button to delete watch data, and much more.
Price and Availability
This model will be available at the end of 2022 at a suggested retail price of €549.99 for the standard versions, €599.99 for the Solar versions, and €649.99 for the Tactical Edition versions.
