With 1046 members (42 nationalities), including 50 teams (36 men’s and 14 women’s), 568 riders, and 383 staff members, MPCC has never been so international and essential to the credibility of cycling.

The MPCC welcomed the good compliance of its members with its internal regulations in 2022, particularly by not allowing riders who are under investigation to compete. Since 2007, member adherents who have voluntarily committed to the movement have never been found in default or asked to leave the MPCC.

Invited to this General Assembly, Olivier Banuls, from the International Testing Agency (ITA), presented his work to the members of our movement. The MPCC is very pleased to have had the honor of this visit and unreservedly supports the independent international entity in its fight against doping. On its website, the MPCC has been promoting the Reveal program since 2022, which encourages, anonymously or not, sharing information that can help the ITA in its mission and increase the credibility of cycling. The MPCC strongly supports the project to re-evaluate upwards the ITA budget allocated to the cycling anti-doping program, with a staggered increase in contributions in 2023 and then 2024.

In 2022, WADA banned the use of glucocorticoids, finally validating performance enhancement! But it took a long time to implement: since 2007, MPCC member teams voluntarily underwent cortisol level tests while calling, every year, for authorities to ban the use of these glucocorticoids.

The MPCC regrets that tramadol will only appear on the list of prohibited substances and methods in 2024. As with glucocorticoids, the MPCC has formally requested its ban since 2012. Why not ban it on January 1, 2023?

At this General Assembly, several members spoke to emphasize the need for cycling to always better communicate the effectiveness of its fight against doping. This call comes in a context where doping cases in other major sports, involving top international athletes, have not received media coverage proportionate to what similar cases in cycling have had in the past. This capacity can also only develop on the condition of relying on an even greater number of members: men’s teams, women’s teams, riders, staff, sponsors, organizers, federations, sports agents.

On the proposal of the Board of Directors, MPCC wishes to associate women’s cycling with the work of the MPCC, as is done for men’s cycling. 14 women’s teams are already members of the MPCC, and it is important that the majority of women’s teams adhere to the MPCC philosophy in the interest of cycling and organizers. Emily Brammeier, representing the DSM women’s team, was elected to the MPCC Board of Directors as the women’s cycling representative.

The General Assembly unanimously voted on the new composition of the MPCC Bureau:
