Review of Byogenie Projet Biogenic Marine AGPI Omega-3 Acids

If there’s one vital substance whose positive effects impact so many areas of our body at the same time, it’s omega-3 fatty acids… That’s also why they’re called the miracle food of the 21st century. But how do you find your way around the dietary supplement aisle? Which ones are really worth it? Are they all of the same quality? Which ones should you choose? Byogenie Projet laboratory once again offered me the opportunity to test, over several weeks, the product in their range that perhaps offers the most astonishing health benefits. Marine PUFAs: Omega-3, for heart health, joint protection, brain function, vision, stress management… and much more!

First of all, PUFA stands for: polyunsaturated fatty acids. These are fatty acids that are poorly or not synthesized by the body and should have been supplied by food in the form of lipids. And yet, they are said to be essential. Because beyond their important role in providing energy, these fatty acids play a major role in protecting the body, particularly against cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes. The quantitative intake of fatty acids, in the form of lipids, as well as the qualitative balance between classes and families of fatty acids, are subject to nutritional intake recommendations. These recommendations, regularly reviewed by Afssa (French Agency for Food Safety), aim to cover physiological needs, but also to prevent certain pathologies through nutrition. These recommendations also highlight the impact of fatty acids on metabolism and the underlying mechanisms of action.

Byogenie Projet

The very essence of genius is to put the simplest things into practice. And yet it’s so complicated to simplify something sophisticated. Personally, I know at least one person who benefits from this magical power. Luckily, she decided to offer athletes of all kinds, cyclists, runners, or even soccer or tennis players or climbing enthusiasts, THE solution that will allow us to protect ourselves from inflammation related to our favorite activity. I present to you: Nicolas Bles, a doctor of pharmacy passionate about sports and experienced in essential trace element medicine, who has chosen to put his strengths and skills at the service of our community.

Biogenic Marine PUFAs are sold for €28.

The solution

Marine PUFA capsules. A dietary supplement based on fish oil, specifically herring, but also gelatin, a humectant, glycerin, soy, and vanilla. A supplement that, due to its very different mechanisms of action, has a very broad spectrum of activity. Indeed, one of the most important properties is certainly the protection of cells against premature aging. Omega-3 fatty acids are thus considered very powerful antioxidants that can even cross the blood-brain barrier.

Benefits and actions

In the cardiovascular system, omega-3 fatty acids, as offered here by Byogenie Projet, lower triglyceride levels and simultaneously increase good HDL cholesterol levels. They also improve blood circulation and reduce deposits in blood vessels thanks to their fluidizing effect. In addition, these omega-3 fatty acids that we consumed for 30 days reduced the formation of inflammation-promoting substances and therefore had a positive effect on the joint and inflammatory problems I’ve been experiencing for a few years.

Omega-3s are essential for health.

Then, I tested…

Two capsules a day, every day for 1 month… Osteoarthritis, is it hereditary? I don’t know much about the truth of this phenomenon, but this phase of wear and degradation of the cartilage that covers our bones at the joints scares me a little. Especially since I have several cases in my family and I really want to run for as long as nature gives me days to live. And I know it. Everyone knows it: ground impacts, shocks sustained, changes of direction and other pivoting activities, and the forces exerted on the joints during my sports practices cause microtraumas. They damage the cartilage, leading to the inflammation associated with arthritis and pain. Unfortunately, since cartilage lacks blood vessels, it receives little nourishment and is difficult to repair when damaged, hence the absolute necessity of preserving my cartilage capital. And in this sense, the capsule meets a good part of my needs.

Omega-3s contribute to joint protection.

The result

Unfortunately, the average European doesn’t eat much fish and therefore doesn’t consume enough omega-3 fatty acids, which also strengthen the brain for optimal function. And in this sense, and without deviating too much from the primary benefits sought by the basic athlete that I am, many nutritionists and medical experts also believe that the growing number of patients with Alzheimer’s disease, depression, and other brain-related diseases could be linked to an imbalance in the amount of omega-3 in our diet. Something to alert us! Because indeed, as we consume too much omega-6 in our diet, we lack the essential omega-3 fatty acids needed to compensate, which reduces the likelihood of these diseases. Moreover, I discovered a study in which it was written that patients with Alzheimer’s disease have low levels of DHA in their blood plasma – one of the two essential fatty acids we report here. By examining blood samples from a group of 1000 people who were not demented at the start of the study, researchers were able to show that those with higher levels of DHA in their blood were 47% less likely to develop dementia and 39% less likely to develop Alzheimer’s compared to those with lower levels.

Europeans generally consume too few foods rich in Omega-3s.

The health benefits of omega-3s are therefore numerous and indeed go far beyond what initially interested me. They have a beneficial effect on the cerebral and cardiovascular systems and contribute to mental well-being, fitness, and joint health.

And precisely, to return to the benefits I was looking for with this micronutrition offered by Byogenie Projet in this capsule, it significantly helped me optimize my cartilage capital. But also to:

  • Relieve inflammation
  • Relieve pain caused by arthritis
  • Improve the stiffness of my joints
  • Relieve osteoarthritis pain.

Indeed, for several months, joint pain in my knee and ankles had been developing silently. Especially when waking up. Even though the suffering was bearable, these problems hindered my joint mobility. This lack of mobility biomechanically impacted my stride and movement efficiency. One month later, this discomfort has almost disappeared, and I have regained a speed of execution consistent with my level. The first results took three weeks to become visible.

My opinion? And why this capsule?

Once you understand the benefits of Omega-3s, what I deduced is that only a very small amount of plant-based omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) is converted into long-chain omega-3 fatty acids, the necessary amount of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) to protect tissues can only be obtained by absorbing these omega-3 fatty acids through fish or other seafood. Yet I consume almost none. And I’m not the only one…

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are commonly used in sports, most of the time without a medical prescription. Athletes consume them excessively to relieve pain after an injury, but also to prevent muscle and joint pain. But these products are not without health risks: cardiovascular risks, digestive and renal side effects. So, the use of natural ingredients, although they in no way replace a medical prescription, demonstrates their value. So… Frankly, I’m not going to deprive myself! And I’m sharing it with you.

The question of omega-3s and more particularly this supplement offered by our friend Doctor Nicolas BLES must be integrated into a global vision, in interaction with other nutrients, such as carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, but also vitamins, minerals, and trace elements, and not taken in isolation in nutritional support schemes for athletes.

Finally, omega-3s are not a myth, they are a reality and their daily consumption is far too low. The hunt for fat, and more particularly among cyclists, forgets a term that changes everything (“bad”) as well as an important nuance because the correct sentence should be: the momentary hunt for bad fat, and in this case saturated fatty acids. So, to your plates and since that probably won’t be enough, shake the pillbox and take two Byogenie Marine PUFA capsules every morning…
