The Italian brand has just opened its first flagship store in the heart of Girona, Spain, the European cycling capital. Located on one of the city’s main streets, the 275-square-meter space was designed to showcase Castelli’s product ranges, as well as the brand’s cycling heritage and passion for innovation.

Several professional and ex-professional athletes participated in the inauguration, including Nathan Haas, Sandra Alonso, Rory Sutherland, and Fran Ventoso.
Spanish and international cycling media also attended the event.
The spacious store is designed to highlight products by offering an A-to-Z experience. Multiple screens throughout the store showcase products and the brand, emphasizing the latest innovations. The store also features a space dedicated to cycling heritage, celebrating some of the many teams and athletes Castelli has outfitted over the years.
A knowledgeable and passionate team is on hand to answer all questions and help customers choose the ideal outfit.
In addition, the store will become a meeting point for Castelli rides and other events: conferences, parties, technical tutorial filming, and Zwift events.

A blend of online and physical store
In the future, the store will combine the strength of a physical location with an omnichannel connection to create a better consumer experience. Comprehensive and immediate product information will be readily available.
The store sells Castelli’s new Fall/Winter 2022 collection, and by the end of 2022, it will introduce a dedicated custom apparel space with a configurator allowing customers to create unique pieces and design their personal jersey or team kits. The cycling culture and passion will be further enhanced by a dedicated mechanical workshop space where customers can benefit from a complete bike tune-up.

Why Girona
The Catalan city of Girona may be little known outside the cycling world. Yet, this small town north of Barcelona has become the European cycling capital over the past 20 years. Hundreds of professional riders live there, and tens of thousands of passionate amateurs visit every year for their holidays.
“There was never any doubt about finding the perfect location for Castelli’s first flagship store; Girona is like our second home,” said Steve Smith, Castelli Brand Director. “In recent years, Girona has become a mecca for cyclists. At least once in your cycling life, you should make a pilgrimage to experience the roads, trails, and culture of Girona.”

The Girona region has played an essential role for Castelli over the years. Indeed, many of the brand’s professional and amateur athletes use Girona as a training camp for much of the season, and many decide to stay and live there after their WorldTour careers.
“While the news has been dominated by store closures after the pandemic, we are excited and confident that the presence of a physical brand and product store still has a powerful role to play in satisfying customers and building lasting relationships with the brand,” added Steve Smith.
