Fausta Sport, the new French app to easily meet other sports and parasports enthusiasts close to home

A team of athletes is launching Fausta Sport, an open community for sharing and exchanging around sports. In just a few clicks, it’s possible to quickly and easily make new acquaintances, find someone to complete a team, or discuss passions.

The health crisis has had at least one virtue: it highlighted the fundamental importance of social connection. This is undoubtedly what the French missed most during successive lockdowns, hence the interest in sports. Beyond its effectiveness in combating a sedentary lifestyle, a risk factor for Covid-19 (source), sport is also a formidable creator of connections between people. It breaks down all social, generational, and even physical barriers.

The figures speak for themselves:

66% of the population over 15 years old practiced sports at least once a year, and just over a quarter practiced only one activity (source: INJEP, Ministry of Sports, CRÉDOC: National Barometer of Sports Practices, 2018);
Disability does not prevent participation in sports: our national para-athletes won 54 medals at the Tokyo 2021 Paralympic Games, including 11 gold medals;
Sport is practiced everywhere: 36% of people go outdoors and into natural environments, 29% go to a sports facility;
Seniors are great athletes: 57% of people aged 50 or over have participated in a sports activity in the last twelve months, and 1 in 2 still do so from age 70.

Yes, but… in practice, it’s not always easy to start solo or even continue in one’s sport (after an injury or a move, for example). Sometimes we too would simply like to go see a good match near home, with people who share the same tastes.

“With Fausta Sport, I want to unite, support, and succeed in changing mentalities! Sport is a wonderful way to bring people together, beyond differences. That’s also why I want to highlight parasports until they are fully integrated into the sports landscape,” says Benjamin Bodin, the founder.

Fausta Sport is the app for all athletes, those who practice and those who prefer to watch matches, those who put on their sneakers once a month and those who are addicted to gyms, novices, experienced athletes, para-athletes and able-bodied individuals, those who don’t have much time and those with a very small budget, men and women, young people and seniors…

It was specially designed to simplify the sharing of sports and parasports.

Benjamin explains: “With FAUSTA, everything is in one place. The mobile app geolocates you when you want, and you can start enjoying sports again by meeting other people who share your passion.”

Simply because there’s always someone nearby who loves the same sport as you: a neighbor who also does Yoga, a work colleague who’s a football fan…

Club Sponsors: 99.99 €/year;
Sports Professionals (shops, coaches, gyms, multi-sport complexes, sports bars): 19.99 €/month.

Good to know: clubs receive commissions when they sponsor sports professionals, which makes the app particularly attractive for them, so the cost for clubs is fully amortized by a sponsorship.

A promising young French startup

Fausta Sport now aims to become the reference for sports and parasports. With one goal: to replace various Facebook groups and others to unite and provide all solutions via a single platform that resolves all encountered issues.

This is also why the app is strengthening its online presence, especially on Instagram. It will also soon be possible to add practice locations and become a Fausta Sport partner.

The young startup also harbors strong ambitions, while prioritizing controlled growth:

Within 1 to 2 years, it plans to be present throughout France;
In 3 to 4 years, it will then deploy in Canada and all countries bordering France;
In 5 to 10 years, it will finally expand to all of America and all of Europe;
Fundraising of 175,000 €.

To support its development, the startup has just raised nearly €125,000 through its recent fundraising round.
