To prevent and protect the health and integrity of its community of amateur and professional cyclists, SORIUS, a specialist in online coaching and health prevention through cycling, is partnering with SPORT Protect, the health prevention label for sports nutrition and cosmetics. The awareness campaign launched by Sorius on its training platform encourages its users to adopt the SCAN Protect reflex. Considered the “Yuka” of pharmacopoeia for athletes, this free application allows users to know if a nutritional product or medication contains active ingredients prohibited under anti-doping legislation.

As of June 2021, there are 1811 medications available on the market that can result in a positive anti-doping test. Among them are medications as innocuous as Actifed Rhume© or Solupred©.

It seemed natural to Niels Brouzes, its founder and former professional cyclist, to approach Dorian Martinez, founder of SPORT Protect and former director of the national toll-free number Ecoute Dopage, to help him provide the best prevention to his community of cyclists.

SCAN Protect, anti-doping protection in 3 seconds
Published by SPORT Protect, SCAN Protect analyzes the information generated by a scanned barcode and indicates the status of a medication or nutritional product in 3 seconds. If the application lights up green, the athlete can take this product without fear of testing positive. If the application lights up red, it means that the product can result in a positive anti-doping test. The SCAN Protect database is updated every 24 hours.
