Sigma enhances the versatility of the ROX range with brand-new navigation features. A new Search & Go function in the Sigma Ride app, track navigation complemented by turn-by-turn directions, and simplified track import will contribute to optimal navigation comfort. “With this update, we are significantly expanding the functionalities of our GPS bike computers. We are thus bringing a unique navigation experience to the market in this category of bike computers,” says Dr. Niklas Brown, Senior Innovation Manager at SIGMA.

On-demand navigation with Search & Go in the Sigma Ride app

With the brand-new Search & Go feature, cyclists can easily find any destination they want to go to. Simply enter a specific address in the search bar of the Sigma Ride app or click on any point on the map to set it as a destination. Cyclists can choose between four different route preferences.

The created route can then be launched directly on the ROX or saved for later in the Sigma Ride app.

Easily plan tracks and launch them anytime

Like the ROX 11.1 EVO, the ROX 2.0 and ROX 4.0 now feature track navigation. This allows for precise following of a pre-recorded route. Cyclists can create their track in the Sigma Data Center or another portal like Komoot or Strava and import it into the Sigma Ride app. The track can then be saved on the bike computer to be launched in offline mode or launched from the app.

Thanks to offline mode, cyclists can be guided to their destination without needing to be connected to their smartphone. The ROX 11.1 EVO can save up to 36 tracks for offline use, while the ROX 2.0 and 4.0 can save one.

Comfortable navigation with turn-by-turn directions

For tracks planned in Sigma Data Center, via Search & Go or Komoot, a large turn arrow and an audible signal indicate the next change of direction to cyclists during the ride.

When cyclists start navigation, a navigation page is automatically added to the ROX screen. The ROX 4.0 and ROX 11.1 EVO also display an overview of your route’s elevation profile on another page. On the ROX 11.1 EVO screen, turn-by-turn directions appear in a pop-up window that displays as you approach the next turn, or you can choose to display them permanently by customizing your training overviews.

The ROX 4.0 and ROX 11.1 EVO also display street names. The combination of the track overview and route directions ensures cyclists are guided optimally to their destination. If cyclists leave the track or go in the wrong direction, the ROX emits an audible signal and indicates the fastest way to return to the route. In addition, the track overview scale automatically increases so that the track always remains visible and you can quickly find your way back.

Availability: The new functions are available now via a free firmware update for the ROX 2.0 and 4.0 models and an update to the Sigma Ride app. The firmware update for the ROX 11.1 EVO will follow in autumn 2022.
