Origine now offers a range of electric-assist bikes, based on a single platform the brand calls Help, which is available for road, gravel, and urban use. The program includes: lightness and maneuverability thanks to a Mahle motor in the rear hub, and always a customization program, like all other Origine bikes.

In developing an electric bike, Origine wanted to maintain its DNA, and the assistance should be the final touch, the bonus that makes the bike easier. This assistance provides the boost you need to overcome a difficulty, stay in the wheels, or simply complete your entire ride with the help of electric power. The Help in its most radical version is designed to withstand the worst conditions of a real gravel ride, between roots, mud, stones, and beautiful white roads.

Origine has therefore developed a sporty electric-assist bike, a bike that, even without assistance, is already a high-performance bike with a motor whose weight is forgotten and whose rolling resistance is non-existent. Because an electric bike is first and foremost a bike, a bike that is handled, carried, climbs passes, ridden with and sometimes without assistance, the brand has developed a bike whose weight would not be a handicap, whose performance would not just be that of a frame on which it has placed a motor, and whose reliability is that of a bike like those it usually builds.

In its road version, it is typically the bike that will make your road rides easier. Who hasn’t dreamed of riding a bike with the efficiency of a road bike and getting help to stay in the wheels when a false flat appears, to face a headwind without suffering, to conquer a mountain pass while fully enjoying the scenery? The Help is all of that at once, a true road bike, agile, light, high-performance, and capable of relieving you as soon as the energy expenditure becomes too great. The Help is above all a real bike, high-performance, reliable, pleasant to ride, on which you enjoy racking up kilometers without difficulty. The perfect ally for commuting to work during the week and devouring asphalt and trails on the weekend.

A Mahle motorization
Since the beginning of the project, Origine has worked hand in hand with the motor manufacturer. This synergy has resulted in a specific motorization for the Help and the program the brand wanted to give it. Mahle has met these requirements. The German brand’s system is the lightest at 3.2 kg, for the entire motor/battery/connectivity package. To further lighten the final result and maintain the dynamic qualities of a muscular bike, the battery is housed inside the down tube for a total weight of 12 kilograms. Ideal for performance use, but also for transport, lifting, or storage. The bike thus remains dynamic and well-balanced, and rides like a normal bike.

The hub motor allows the use of a drivetrain identical to that of a muscular bike, and does not require a specific chainring or heavy drivetrain; everything is standard. In addition to its practical aspect, the Mahle X20 system, besides being a fully machined masterpiece, is a technological gem. The hub and crankset are equipped with speed, torque, and cadence sensors, the data collection of which allows the assistance to be adapted to be as natural as possible. When the assistance kicks in, the transition is smooth and seamless, and beyond 25km/h there is no hindrance to progression, allowing traditional road bike speeds to be reached without excessive energy expenditure.

With its ANT+ connectivity, the system can link directly to your GPS via the My SmartBike application and adapt the assistance according to the difficulty of the terrain, your heart rate, and the power you are developing. The torque is 55Nm, the battery accepts a range extender bringing the total capacity to 435WH, available from October, for an 80% charge in less than 2 hours. The AMC (Automatic Motor Connection) allows the motor hub to be connected very easily and fixed with a classic thru-axle.
As with the rest of the Origine range, the Help is 100% configurable. This means you can choose your components from a strict selection. You can also choose the color you want, as with all bikes in the Origine range.
